Almost like a chocolate milkshake!!
I tend to make-up lots of little things to eat, but rarely post the recipe. I like things kind of simple so nothing is really all that exciting, but I had to share what I just made up!!
I was craving ice cream since we just got home from swimming at the in-laws and everyone was eating homemade ice cream. And I came up with a quickie chocolate milkshake that was absolutely delish!! Just thought I would share... 1/2 cup or so of unsweetened coconut milk 1/4 cup lowfat Daisy cottage cheese (don't say yuck....can't taste it, only makes it super thick!) 2 t. Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa 2 t. instant espresso 2 packets truvia 2 t. SF vanilla Torani lots of ice Blend in Magic Bullet or blender Hope someone else enjoys this as much as I just did!! Happy 4th of July.......Proud to be an American

Milkshake sounds good.
Rose1 I am in a knitting group as well. We make baby layettes

I make a milkshake like this using frozen almond milk cubes. It is really good. Not as nicely with the almond cubes.

Thank you for posting the chocolate milkshake recipe!! It is delicious. I didn't have dark chocolate cocoa so I used one tablespoon of regular Hershey's cocoa. Didn't have espresso powder so I used a half teaspoon of instant coffee.
Your "experiments" may seem simple and not worth posting to you, but I for one of probably many would love to read about your "simple" concoctions. Thanks again and happy creating to you. |

you can also thicken with a quarter teaspoon of xanthan gum or a bit more than that of glucomannan powder instead of the cottage cheese to lower the carbs. all delicious!

Would unsweetened almond milk work, too? This sounds awesome!

Thanks, I will try it with almond milk and xanthan gum, as Ravenrose suggested (just to keep the carbs down a little more).
One last question: I assume that the "t." you have listed in the ingredients is tablespoons and not teaspoons, correct? |

WOW!!! You really can't taste the spinach. I am in shock.
The color isn't really great, but the taste is still the same!! |

I guess it depends on how you are having the shake. Now that I know that I can't taste the spinach, I will have this for breakfast. The CC is about the same as adding in protein powder and is what makes the shake so thick. Also, I am using the So Delicious brand of unsweetened coconut milk. |

I'm glad I asked about the Tbsp. vs. tsp! I had it wrong. LOL
I don't know if I'm brave enough to add spinach. I'll have to work up the courage. ![]() |

This is delish!!! I substituted some stuff with what I had on hand or just because
:Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk Instant coffee (just 1 tsp.) SF DaVinci Cookie Dough syrup I'm on the JUDDD plan, so I used this as a snack yesterday (Down Day) and today I used it for breakfast and added a whole egg to it and some cream to add some calories for my Up Day. This rocks and it's so easy!! Thanks for the recipe! |
