I converted a Bisquick Raspberry Cheesecake today--and used the mix as a replacement for the bisquick--the cheesecake turned out delicious but it didn't really have that crust that you normally find with a blender bisquick recipe.. I am just beginning to learn to bake this way so I really had no idea if it would work-it certainly wasn't a failure-just maybe needing something else added to it? the recipe only required 1/4 cup of the mix so I wasn't expecting much of a crust anyway! and maybe it wasn't supposed to have a crust-just solidify enough to get out of the pie plate?
Ouizoid-thanks for the recipe--it has at least made me start trying to bake some things! and thanks to everyone else for sharing their expertise and knowledge and recipes. I have been gaining knowledge just by reading-if I could just remember everything I read! Jeanne |

Bisquick has shortening in it so maybe it just needs some butter or shortening cut into the mix to make it more bisquick like. |

I'm getting a Netrition order together and am wondering what brands do you all use for coconut flour, protein powder, and gluc powder? I'm planning on ordering Now, Designer Whey and Now again as the brands for these in order given. I suspect all that they carry are good but for these particular items is one brand really that much different than another?
Thanks for any advice. The Designer Whey I'm planning to order is the plain one, I use Body Fortress for vanilla and chocolate but can't find a plain one at Walmart. |

I use Konjac for my gluc. I bought the Jay Robb after reading tons of posts regarding the taste - so I have nothing to compare it to. |

I use coconut secret for coconut flour, now whey isolate for protein powder, now glucommanan. They seem to work for me. I want to try using the pea protein in place of the protein powder when I make another order.

The NOW brand is 8 oz. for 9.99. The Konjac is 500 grams for 19.99. Re that measurement, "ONE OUNCE EQUALS about 28.35 GRAMS. So, 500 GRAMS would be 17.63 OUNCES or ONE POUND & 1.63 OUNCES - a slightly better price per quantity. At the rate that things are being made with this mix, you may want to consider getting the larger quantity amount, especially with the flat-rate shipping Netrition has. Thanks for posting the X6 recipe. I want to make up a batch this weekend. Do you store in the fridge? It would be great to buy this already made in a big batch!!! I made muffins with this recipe when it was first posted and they were really good. Not sure why I have not followed this post but I am intrigued now.. .

This recipe is actually x 9 of the original mix where Judy's is x 6, the ratios are the same in both recipes. I use the above recipe but double it. |

breading using Fantastic Flour mix
Esther,
So glad your chicken turned out good for you. We were impressed with the breading as well. We just cooked on medium in an electric fry pan in a little coconut oil and we really did enjoy our cube steaks. Elaine |

bob's red mill coconut flour
honeyville oat fiber konjac gluc Now protein powder georgene, I have some of that banana nut protein--I'll give it a shot--it is really delicious and I believe I originally bought it on your recommendation. My only objection to it is that it has a little sugar (2g?) in it--but in a whole recipe, probably not a big deal! |

There was some discussion awhile back and I bought the largest container of Deb-El from Netrition.
Then I could see how much I'm going to be using this mix and bought a giant can of egg whites from Honeyville. I have not opened it and am worried about the flavor - that was the basis of the discussion - the flavor - so when I finally go through my Deb-El I'll report any taste difference in the giant can from Honeyville. |

I forgot I bought this when you recommended it in this thread long ago. I have a big container of it. I should try doing some sugar cookies. Thanks for the reminder.

WOW this is an amazing site. You gals are somekind of awesome. I can cook and bake but I have to follow a recipe I am not creative at all. Let me thank you all for coming up with all of these recipes. I'm not sure my printer likes you it has been overworked the last couple of days. What would really help a newbie the second time around if you would put brand names with the items you use so we know what to order from netrition. I have a list already that is going to look like the national debt. Thanks again. Susan H.
