Butter Tea (stolen from Main Lobby)
This is an interesting, comforting drink..I guess the Tibetan monks drink this alot, but they use Yak butter..
A mug of hot black tea (brewed to taste) 1 tsp. of butter melted in the tea pinch of salt to taste milk/half/half/cream to taste It is really good..and I'm not a salt person, but you do need the salt, to taste, of course. |

Since it's "Stolen Tea"
I have to try it.
![]() My mom used to salt her coffee before it was made. I read recently that salt takes away the bitterness of coffee. Guess mom knew what she was doing almost 8 decades ago. |

I'm intrigued! I think I'll have to give this a go.
I've also read about some LCers adding coconut oil to their coffee/tea.... Quick and easy experiment coming up! |

My mom did this with coffee when she showed me how to make percaolated coffee. I love the smell of fresh brewed coffee. I don't drink it though.

I'll have to try this sometime.
As for salt taking away the bitterness of coffee, I always put a pinch of salt in the coffee grounds when I fill my coffee maker. I heard a long time ago that that is what Cracker Barrel did to their coffee to make it taste so good. Don't know if it's true but I always loved CB coffee so I started doing it and it really does help. |
