Still can't find the rice shirataki. Has anyone tried using a blender to try and make the regular noodles into rice?

Cathy, they have it at Netrition and also at Amazon. Look for Miracle Rice.

I'm fortunate to have a local (about 30 minutes from home) source for the Miracle Rice. I'd like to buy 5-6 bags next time I'm at the market that carries it, but they keep it refrigerated, even though the bags say that you don't have to refrigerate until after you open the bag.
Does anyone know if it's okay to store these (unopened) in my pantry, even though they were previously refrigerated? |

I am having a delicious rice lunch today- a rinsed and lemon squirted a bag before I left for work today, and brought a red pepper carmelized onion chicken burger (from Costco- holy yum), and a couple of Tbs of alfredo sauce. Heated up the burger, sliced it in to bight sized pieces, stirred it all together, and heated through. Yum!!
Ms Woods, thanks for being such a shiritaki disciple- I am convered! |

Chicken and Rice Alfredo
I used a different recipe for this yesterday and didn't like it much, but this one I like a LOT. I was trying to make something that was one serving, but this turned out to be closer to two servings, but not quite. It's good for when you're looking for something rich and filling.
Chicken and Rice Alfredo 1 bag Miracle Rice, rinsed and drained 4 oz. cooked chicken, diced ¼ cup spinach 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped 2 oz. cream cheese 2 tablespoons HWC 2 tablespoons parmesan 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder ¼ teaspoon salt Prepare Miracle Rice and place in a dry warm skillet. Add cream cheese, HWC, nutmeg, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and stir until melted. Add chicken, spinach, and green onions. Warm through to heat the chicken and wilt or defrost spinach. Top with parmesan. |

CrazyWoman....I see you use PureVia. I have never heard of this before. My question is how does it taste? I have tried several types of Stevia in the past but couldn't get past the taste. I would really like to use a "natural" sweetener but I have found none where the taste didn't bother me significantly.

I have never used PureVia! Not sure what I had said that made you think I used it. I do think I remember replying to a post that talked about it. But I don't use it. So sorry I can't help.

tasting fried rice. I used the lemon juice in the last rinse water and voila there is no smell at all. I also poached as the package suggested. Hoping to always have this in my pantry. Like it better than the noodles. |

Glad you liked the fried rice Barbo. I just made it again today for lunch and finally started buying miracle rice by the case.
Anxiously awaiting the rice pudding recipe you asked for. |

SLIGH
Billie already made the rice pudding. See her recipe and beautiful
pictures. I was dreaming about tapioca pudding using the miracle rice. You remember the box recipe? It called for milk (cream) sugar (sub) eggs and eggwhite whipped to fold in. Yummy pure vanilla. Hey I think we can make it with one package of M.Rice. Soon as I clear out the Passover Revolution Cake from Dr. Atkins I shall make it. Unless someone beats me to it. ![]() |

There ARE gluten-free soy sauces but it takes some searching - and Tilly is right, tamari is USUALLY gluten-free. Read those labels though!
IIRC, the Braggs Liquid Aminos is gluten-free too but again - check the label on it before purchase. |

A lot of the paleo recipes use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.

Try the rice, not the same as regular rice, but a good substitute. And after you rinse it the smell is gone. Hope the GF sauce turns out well for you, rosethorns. Let me know how it tastes.

I got my Miracle Rice at
Amazon.com, also my first batch came from Netrition.
I cannot find it locally either. Tonight I am making the recipe that Billie posted. After I see how we like it, then I might go for the tapioca thing. |
