I did several pounds of diet cola chicken breasts in the crockpot the other day. I've been munching on it. Still have a few days left of it!! Delicious!!

Okay I am in love. Frozen strawberry Yogart
Greek yogart large Dannon nonfat container drained over night 1-2tsp stawberry jello splenda to taste splash of almond milk (I will use more next time) I put all this into my ice cream maker. It was a bit on thick side and will next time add in more almond milk. It was delicious. Really hit the spot of ice cream. I can think of so many differant combinations from this. dd8 ate half of it on me. I am wondering if I really need the ice cream maker. I am going to try next time to blend all the above and put it in the freezer and see if that works just as good

We must have been thinking along the same lines, Jodi!! I was thinking about ice cream tonight, so I tried this:
1/4 c. ff yogurt 1/4 c. ff ricotta 2 pkts splenda cinnamon -- don't know how much, but I use lots!!! Mixed it all together and froze it for two hours. Just the right consistency for me. Might try freezing it for 3 or 4 hours next time and see how it is. Hits the spot tonight!! |

plain ff yogurt. Can't afford the greek yogurt, though one of these times I'd like to try it.
I love trying new recipes!!! I want to try some more, but it's too hot to cook! |

I read a hint about that -- especially if you're going to freeze it -- but I haven't tried it. Isn't it supposed to be more like Greek yogurt if you drain the ff stuff? Can't remember where I read that!!

Thanks for that last tidbit! I was wondering how much yogurt would be left.
Last week Martins had their brand of nonfat yogurt on sale. 2-24 oz containers for $3.00!!! Wish I would have extra room in the refrigerator to buy lots!! |

Hi! I have a question about draining yoghurt! If you drain ff natural yoghurt does the carb count become lower--like the carb count for greek yoghurt. Is that why people drain it or is just because it's a lot cheaper than buying greek yoghurt?! Thanks!

I just realized my yogurt containers were 32 oz too. Yeah, I had more than i thought!!!
Well, since I forgot my oat bran this morning and I don't have any more ff ricotta, I tried a new mixture. ff cream cheese ff yogurt (about twice as much yogurt as cream cheese) cinnamon splenda dash of vanilla And I stuck it in the freezer. That's my dessert for tonight!! So we'll see how it turns out! |

That's always a good things. I hate these recipes that have things I don't normally have in the house and SO much in them that it's overwhelming.

amazinggrace thanks for the link. I found this Vietnamese Beef Dukan Diet Recipe and I'm making it now. I'm gonna add some onions. Onions are fine, right? As long as it's not too much. I didn't know that soy sauce is okay in place of salt! Then I bet fish sauce is okay too. Yay! Yum!

Just a personal taste, I don't like the greek yogurt, but LOVE my homemade plain yogurt. I like the tartness of the homemade and did not like the creamy and plain texture of the greek. But as you mentioned, you can drain the regular overnight in the frig and have a really thick spreadable texture. Thanks for all these wonderful and easy recipes!
