?Carbquick type copycat mix?
Has anyone ever seen a recipe that can be used in place of carbquick?
oops dumb question....I just checked out the ingredients and see it is similar to something like a dreamfields pasta....it can't really be duplicated. Last edited by niagara belle; 01-12-2011 at 01:17 PM.. |

have you used carbquick with such resounding success that you WANT to copy it?
depending on your application, there are a lot of baking mixtures that work better, in my estimation. they aren't quite so "white flour" but they also don't taste weird and have that really creepy texture. |

I just wanted to add, some other great uses for carbquik. I wish there was a copycat recipe for it, but I have never heard of one.
Cannoli Pastries-Thanks beeb!! Graham Crackers-Thanks KevinPA!! Chocolate Mayo Cupcakes-Thanks Cap57!! Breading... I use it as a coating for oven baked chicken and it's delicious-Thanks LindaSue!! Cookies & Scones Brownie Torte-Thanks Carolyn!! I know everyone's tastes are different, but there are some of us that like some things made with Carbquik. I agree that it isn't good in a lot of applications, like dumplings I made, great texture but the taste of Carbquik was very pronounced in them, although they did curb the craving for dumplings for me. |

I've had GREAT luck making a copycat Bisquik using Kevinpa's 3rd and final flour mix. I make up big batches and keep it on hand now and use it a lot. It's a little higher in carbs than Carbquik, but tastes so much better.
Here's the link to the thread that has the recipe: How do I make copycat Bisquik out of Kevinpa's flour recipes? |
