I'm wondering...re: cheese chips
Just nuked a batch of Mexican white cheddar chips and pepperoni....(got some dip to go with them!)
I wonder what it does to the calorie/fat content....when you nuke out the fat? |

Most types of fat have 100 - 120 calories per tablespoon, about 10 -- 12 g of fat. So for each tablespoon of fat you cook out, you can subtract about that much. For a teaspoon of fat cooked out, it would be about 33 to 40 calories and 3 to 4 g fat.
The hard part will be measuring how much fat is cooked out. If you are cooking it on a paper towel, you could weigh the papertowel before and after. Or, you could guesstimate by pouring a teaspoon of oil on a papertowel, to see if it looked about the same as the fat that cooked out. |
