NEED NEW CROCKPOT!!!

Hi everyone. The liner in my crockpot cracked bigtime and so I am on the market for a new one. I doubt if I can find a replacement liner although I will look. Would any of you out there like to give me a recommendation for a new one? Which is your favorite?

Thanks so much.

I got mine from Target dirt cheap (under $20) and in a pretty red color! I believe it is the Rival brand had it forever and works great. It also came with a dipper (for melting cheese and chocolate). I love it!

I got the Hamilton Beach slow cooker that comes with 3 crockery liners, in 2, 4 and 6 quart sizes that all go into the same base. One lid fits them all. I LOVE the thing. Nice to just use the size appropriate for the dish you're making.

I saw them at WalMart for around $30 at Christmas - I've had this one over a year now, I think I paid about $40 for it. Well worth it to me.

It has a dial, not a digital control, and 3 buttons, you push the button for the size pot you're using, set it to either Low or High, and you're in business.

I love love love my Nesco Roaster - the insert is metal, there is a temperature gauge on it like an oven, you can use it like a crockpot on low, or turn it up higher the last hour or so. You can apparently cook a small turkey breast in it, etc etc. I have had it at least 10 years if not more - got it at Target for like $20 ... It is awesome!

I like older crockpots - I look at thrift shops, yard sales, local versions of freecycle. That's also where you might find a replacement liner for yours.

The older ones don't cook as hot, and are just generally more dependable - MHO only.

I have six of them, two are newer, and I use them all. Quite a bit. Year-round.

Rival is good. Hamilton-Beach - had a bad experience with one of theirs.

I have an All Clad one that I love. Mostly because it has a timer on it. ok and it matches my cookware. I would at least get one that has a timer. I got mine on ebay.

Thank you all so much for responding. My son also has a Rival and likes it very much. He tried his best tonight (from Calgary) to talk me into buying the whole thing new - not bothering to hunt up another liner. But I know that often one can get a liner from a Thrift shop and I plan to check them out first. Then I will check out all those names you gals have recommended. I finally learned how to make rice without a rice cooker when mine broke. And I have a beautiful Lagostina pressure cooker, so I don't need a 3 in 1 job. A dear friend gave me a liner today to try but it is too small and I am pretty sure it must be the right size for the heat to reach the sides of the stoneware. But it was sure good of her to think of me. I'll let you all know what I find.

Sue.

Yup, mine is a beauty. But I am always afraid of it and try to be very watchful when using it. I move slowly and point the steam away from me and from where I have to reach for the stove on/off knobs quickly. I also keep my oven mitts and/or rubber gloves handy. Guess I heard one too many horror stories - likely just one was enough.

I THINK I got it on Amazon. But it's been a while ago so I'm not for sure. I DO know I saw them at WalMart for less than I paid for it though.

I see on Target's website that they have one with black bowls (mine are white) for $69 - I think that's about what I paid. I don't still see one on the WalMart website.

EBay has a couple but they're $100 plus!

I've got a West Bend 6-quart Crockery Cooker. I love it. Toss a whole chicken or a nice roast in it first thing in the morning and it's falling off the bone by dinner.

Reynolds makes them, they're made of a silicone material that looks like plastic, so they dont melt. They're not cheap but they're not terribly expensive either, I wanna say maybe 50 cents to a buck per liner?

You'll find them near plastic bags and alluminum foil.

Wow! Thanks Ladies!!! I guess I need to crawl out from under my rock, eh? I'm going to have to check it out! Although my roaster is a little larger than the conventional crockpot ... I may just have to buy another crockpot just so i can use the liners

We just got everyone in the family on a washing dishes rotation and the person who gets crockpot night is always grumpy ... this could help!! lol!!!
