Edit: Wonder if maybe it could also have something to do with the climate where I live? I live in the warm bath water state of Florida. Last edited by SassyMollassy; 01-21-2010 at 05:11 PM.. |

I just put a half batch of the vanilla ones in the oven in a small loaf pan. I added a tiny splash of vanilla and a pinch of cinnamon. Ill post later with the results. The batter was cake batter-ish but a little more greasy looking. I used butter.

SassyMollassy - I'm thrilled to be back in The Warm Bathwater State!
I wasn't too happy with early January's Why is there Ice on the Oranges? State. So here goes: 1 stick butter 2 eggs 3 scoops Pure Protein Vanilla Protein Powder 1 Tbls. DaVincis Vanilla 1 packet of Stevia in the Raw 1 tsp. baking powder 1 dash of salt. Baked 15 minutes @ 325 in a greased 8x8 glass baking dish. I had a taste and... This is EXACTLY what I needed! I'm going to shave two minutes off the baking time because it seems a tad dry, but otherwise NOM NOM NOM!Mine raised to 3/4" - I'll try without the baking powder next time to see if it makes a difference. Thank you SO much for sharing this, MsWoods! ![]() |

Ok so mine were a tad dry but they have great texture and they taste good too! The half batch only took 12 min to bake. I promptly ate one bar hot out of the oven. I couldnt stand it!
Tommorrow I will let you all know how they are cold. |

Ah I told you they were good a little gooey Chantyl. I like the chocolate ones gooey it makes them taste more like brownies to me. The peanut butter ones I made are still my favorite by far.
Oh yeah, I'll have pics tomorrow, but the jello one was awesome. Just made the cake and poked holes in it and made strawberry jello according to directions. I poured like 1/4 cup over the cake. Oh man, if you had a problem with it being dry,try this. |

It's prolly the pp. I find EAS to be more gritty and harder to dissolve than other brands. |

Ok Ms. Woods, please share the recipe you used for the filling in those oreo cakesters! Did you use a muffin top pan? I haven't seen one of those yet. Might have to look though because I really like whoopie pies. That's what your cakesters look like. Yummy!

Yes I used a muffin top pan and just made the chocolate version. I sliced them in half and whipped some heavy cream with sweetener and vanilla and put it between the 2 slices.
Here is a picture of the jello "cake". ![]() ![]() Last edited by MsWoods; 01-22-2010 at 07:21 AM.. |

Just made this and shook a little cinnamon on top! It was pretty good! Mine rose maybe 1/2 inch....I used the baking soda also. Had a good buttery flavor! I mean it's not cake "cake' but since the vanilla is ok on induction it is better than nothing!

The batch I made yesterday is almost G-O-N-E! My non LCing mother and my DH have torn into them. They can't get enough!!!
Thank you MsWoods for the scrumptious recipe! You need to name your recipe and post it in the Recipe Room. LindaSue ~ Thanks for the reply. I'll give the chocolate PP a try. Although I didn't like they way the choc tasted when I made the donut holes (diff thread), I may like the choc here. I am definitely picking up some SF jello and a sf pudding to do cake sammies.

ok i'm experimenting with the jello too but to flavor it, so no holes and pouring over. i'm gonna triple the recipe so i only have to make one for the week for breakfast, gonna skip the davincis and lemon extract, gonna add a pack of sugar free jello (strawberry) mixed with enough water to get it wet enough. Also not using 3 sticks of butter lol... i will use one, and some coconut oil.

oh my damn...i put em in the oven and forgot about....starting cooking dinner...after i finished i realized they were in there for atleast a good 40 mins... hmph!!!
Well they are absolutely adorable...they puffed up really good..actually popped themselves out of the pan on their own, but i just know they will be super dry. if the flavor is good i will reattempt this mix next week. (i have 12 cupcake looking pinky cakes to get me through the week --breakfast and post workout snack). |
