I made another batch, added 2tbsp of peanut butter, and used 1/2 cup German Chocolate Davincis. It was too watery so I had to add another scoop of whey protein powder. I have pictures of everything, mine look so different than LS's. These are more dense than the others I made, more pound cake like.
I ate 2 pieces and was stuffed beyond belief. I am giving them away tomorrow, I have way too much of this stuff in my fridge. |

The one I'm using now is Body Fortress from Walmart. I got it near the pharmacy by the bars and supplements.

OK, so I tried making peanut butter ones using 1/4 c. peanut butter and 1/4 c. butter intead of the full 1/2 c. butter. I only baked for 15 min. (in a bread loaf pan). Cut into 12 bars and put in a plastic container in the frig. I must say that they turned out tasty.
The vanilla and chocolate are better after being in the frig, more moist. I think I will take your advice and only use 1 egg next time and only bake for 15 min. But I love that these hold together very well and will work great to pack in lunch. |

Just be aware that if you only use 1 egg they will not be cake like. They will turn out thin and hard (still good though), just a different bar all together. They are more chewy and less fluffy with 1 egg.
I made some peanut butter ones last night and used 2tbsp of peanut butter, but also used 1/2 cup of German Chocolate DaVincis, but had to add another scoop of WPP, and they turned out good as well. The pic above is the one I made last night. I think I agree with LS that I like the Vanilla better. The chocolate are a little bitter, but still good to me. The peanut butter ones are good as well. I had actually put some pumpkin pie spice in my Vanilla ones just to give it a little more flavor, I think cinnamon would be good as well.

That sounds about like the way that mine turned out but I used 1 egg for a half batch of batter. I wonder why mine didn't puff up like a cake??? Mine are like a very dense, not quite chewy, bar type thing. I'm happy with the consistency though. They're nice to snack on and very filling. I do plan to play around with the recipe and see if they come out different next time. I'd also like to make them a little thicker.

I made the chocolate ones also last night. I used a loaf pan, with the two eggs. For some reason, the center would not get done and I had to cook them longer. They did puff up and were cake like, except for the center lol. Oh and I used SF honey in mine for the sweetner. I think the honey was a good way to go with the special dark cocoa powder I used with my vanilla whey protein powder!

Ok tasted one nice and hot out the oven. Cut into 6 pieces. (used 1 egg). It was actually tasty and 1/6 was pretty filling. Not sweet enough though, so i will use more davincis next time. Will eat 2 for breakfast in the morning. Nice change of pace.

Were yours flat or puffy?
Yes I have been eating them for breakfast as well. I don't really like shakes and I'm sick of eggs. |

The plain Vanilla ones are induction friendly. You can have protein powder, butter, and eggs cant you? Lol. But yeah a clean induction can be key.

This is a keeper!!! Mine came out WAY poofy right out of the oven (in a 5x7 glass dish) and now has somewhat deflated but not real flat. My house smells SO good! I made the vanilla and added a couple shakes of cinnamon.

OK, mine didn't turn out right. I use the Body Fortress - vanilla too. I think they were overcooked (I only cooked for 15 min) but they're thin and very dense. They almost rose out of my pan right from the oven though, they just deflated a lot.
I'm giving it another try though since I have the ingredients and it's so easy to prepare! I might try 10 minutes next time. |

As soon as I read the thread I put a batch in. They came perfect. I used two eggs for a more cake like ones. Vanilla designer whey protein and butter. I cooked them for about 18mins. I also used 3tablespoons of vanilla davinci and they were sweet enough.
Thank you!!!! This is a great quick snack/fast breakfast item!! ![]() |

They are excellent frozen I think! That is where mine are now. I just take them out and either heat them up in the microwave, let the warm up to room temperature, or eat frozen! lol
