Jannis, I can relate to your pain re your child's asthma.

When my eldest son was young, he suffered from asthma really badly. He coughed constantly at times. It was a pastor (a friend of the family who lives in South Africa) who has great faith and perhaps a spiritual gift for healing who prayed for our son. He was immediately healed and never needed any more corticosteroids. What was so remarkable, too, is that we did not share with our son that the pastor had prayed for his healing (we ourselves did not have faith at the time that such a prayer could heal him). He actually was super-healed, because he has the strongest lungs of all of us in the family. He is a long distance runner, plus swims underwater for several lengths before needing to take a breath. He also grew to 6-foot, even although he had been on steroids for several years. Doctors told us his growth would be stunted. I'm not saying that God heals everyone of this affliction or any other affliction for that matter (however, He definitely can), but if you know of anyone like the pastor who prayed for our son, then it would be good to ask for prayer.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Bars

1 1/4 cups sifted almond flour
1/3 cup oat flour
1/3 cup chocolate protein powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda Note: you could leave out the vwg, I'm sure
1 1/2 cup of sweetener
1 tsp. molasses
10 Tbs. of unsalted butter (if you use salted, cut back on the salt)
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup of SF chocolate chips or chopped 85 Percent Lindt bar
3/4 cup of pecan pieces or walnut pieces, toasted lightly

Heat oven to 350. Line a 9 x 9 pan with parchment paper.

In a large bowl sift the dry ingredients together..flours/powder/baking soda/sweetener/salt.

In a large skillet, melt 8 Tbs. of the butter until melted, Continue cooking and swirling butter until caramel color..1 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and pour the melted butter into a medium heatproof bowl, then stir the remaining 2 Tbs. of butter into the melted butter until everything is melted. Let cool slightly.

Add salt and vanilla to melted butter and whisk. Add eggs and whisk until thoroughly mixed.

Then gradually add your dry ingredients to the butter/egg mixture and whisk/stir until smooth..Fold in toasted nuts and chocolate chips.

Pour into prepared 9 x 9 pan and bake for 25 minutes or until done. I sprinkled some SF chocolate chips on the top before taking out of the oven for a chocolate glaze.

These are very good..

How do you think these would do to double these and put in a 13 x 9 inch baking pan?

I am sick but I SO want to try these!!

HUGS

If you made 1 1/2 times the recipe it would probably work perfectly.

Now THAT is the power of Prayer!!!! Fantastic!!! I will do that right away! He worries me, especially since baseball starts in a couple of weeks again. This is his true love and he is so good at it! Fabulous First Baseman and Pitcher! Unfortunately, his asthma has gotten in the way the past year .

Thank you Jennifer for telling me this!

Now that I finally found my almond flour again........hid it from myself as to not make too many delicious things! ........ I am going to make these!!

I can really relate, Jannis. Blessings to you.

I have to make this dessert of Carolyn's before the weekend by popular demand!

These sound so great! Can't wait to make them for my coworkers and then tell them they're lowcarb (one of my favorite hobbies since I found Lowcarbfriends)!

Also, the "Coconut Flour Master Bake Mix" that Judy posted - could this be used as a sub for Bisquik in all those "Impossible Pie" recipes?

Thanks!

Carolyn, these bars ar ultra fantastic. I made them last night for family for dessert, and everyone just adored them. I served them with lc vanilla ice cream and I used ChocoPerfection chocolate bars. OMG no one would ever fathom these to be low carb. If you haven't tried this recipe, you must. Thanks Carolyn. Julie
