Pretty much that easy. Or you can make it into "egg drop soup" by stirring in an egg as it boils.

I like to 'nuke' a minced clove or 2 of garlic in a big mug w/a little olive oil for 25 seconds or so. Then add my broth to the mug, nuke it til hot and add a big pinch of crushed red pepper, thyme and black pepper. If you want to amp up the nutrition, toss a handful of baby spinach in the mug for the final minute or so, and/or add a beaten raw egg to the hot broth, stir well. This is a speedy version of 'sopa de ajo' or garlic soup, best cold remedy I know.

I started off making this sopa de ajo on the stove, but nuking gets the job done and when I have a cold or something...cooking comfort food isn't as comforting as advertising might indicate.
(note - have some kleenex handy when you eat this - with enough garlic/spice in there it WILL clear your head for a while). |

I like to add chopped green onion tops and parmesan cheese. Also like to make this into egg drop soup. A little soy sauce tastes good too.

Try a couple of drops (maybe more) of Worcestershire sauce (VERY little) and it won't taste like Worcestershire, but gives depth to the broth.
