I eat them with my eggs in the morning or I also saute some green pepper and mushrooms then melt provolone or mozz on it as a cheese steak. I love me some Steakumms!

I either eat them like a cheese steak salad (lettuce, cheese, peppers) or I do "roll ups" - cheese, a drizzle of mustard and then roll them up - it!

Haven't heard of them for years. If I remember right they are a thin sheet of beef that you use for sandwiches like steak and cheese.

I used to eat a good number of those when I was a kid, but they seemed to get both more expensive and smaller. Rather annoying as they were quite good.

I make roulades with them - kinda like a manicotti or lasagna rollup.

Cook the steaks flat, drain on paper towels. Once cooled, spread with ricotta mixture (egg, ricotta, parm, seasoning). I add a few leaves of raw spinach on top, and roll up. Place them in a baking dish, add some marinara sauce, and bake. They are yummy! You won't miss the noodles.

Every time I see a steak-umms thread I wonder, "Why not just use real steak, cut thinly?" I'm thawing a rib-eye as I type this.

I use to eat them in a rev roll with cheese and SF ketchup...reminded me of a philly steak sandwich. I haven't had these in forever.

(I found this recipe on the website www.steakummm.com)

Lo-Carb Steak-umm Roll-ups

(submitted by Laura in Phoenix, AZ)

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients:

• 1 box 7ct. Steak-umm Sliced Steaks
• 1 tub/bar of softened cream cheese
• 3-4 finely chopped green onions
• Pinch of salt & pepper
• Optional: spinach, chives, parsley, basil*

Instructions:

1) Cook the Steak-umm's in a non-stick pan, browning ONE SIDE ONLY. Move to paper towels (browned side facing up).

2) Mix chopped green onions into cream cheese; add salt & pepper if desired.

3) After slightly cooled, place 2 Tablespoons of cream cheese/green onion mixture onto the cooked side of steak slice.

4) Roll up (pink, uncooked side facing OUT) and place in refrigerator for 10-20 minutes to firm up.

You can secure with Toothpicks, but chilling them usually makes them stay "rolled up" while cooking.

5) Place rollups into a heated non-stick pan for approximately 2 minutes, turning them until brown on all sides.

Serve Immediately.

*Can substitute chives, parsley or basil for the green onion. Spinach can be eaten as a side or roll up with the cream cheese mixture.

Then Ir ealzied I had two so I cooked it a little longer. I didnt drain them on paper towel. I realize now they wouldve been far less greasy.duhhH!

Overall .pretty GOOD taste. I added friedn radish and green pepper and a bit of onion..then melted a piece of swiss on top and horseradish. Pretty goooood.
