Do any of you use Soy Protein? If so, how?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and absolutely love it! I noticed the recipe for Tammy's Chocolate "Chip" Cookies. It calls for Soy Protein Isolate. I bought some Spring Valley brand at Wal-Mart and would like to hear your comments about baking/cooking with it (regardless of brand).

Most people use whey protein on this board, but I think you can substitute soy protein for whey protein 1 for 1. Also, try seaching for recipes with "soy protein" in them.

Thanks SooBee! This is so new to me. I have another question: Can you tell me what the ideal ratio of percentage of daily fats and carbs should be on Atkins? I'm on what I guess is the newer version? I went on ******.com today and was curious if I was anywhere near what it should be. Low Carb Friends is great by the way! Love it. BTW, I'm not following induction to the letter but am staying well below 30 g carbs daily and AM losing weight. Yay!

I don't know the newer Atkins. I've been on maintenance for 11 years. But, I do know that in the old Atkins, the diet was 60-65% fat, especially at the beginning stages. This isn't as hard to get to as you think, since fat grams are 9 calories, and protein grams are 4 calories. You have to work out the best way for your body. For me, I like about 50-55 % fat, 35-40 % protein, and 10 % carbs. I am way over on what your body is supposed to need for protein, but I always feel better when I eat lots of protein, so I do.
