Choco Perfection Bars

Has anyone tried these yet? Are they available in your local stores? Any comments?

Thanks, helper

They were okay, not sure they were worth the cost (factoring in shipping etc).

Right now I really like Guylian's sugar free milk chocolate, available at whole foods.

I like them pretty well. (Choco Perfection) Not extraordinary, but good. I haven't tried the milk chocolate, only dark, as I much prefer the dark to milk choc. I'm not much for milk chocolate.
They do not contain Malitol!
It doesn't cause me tummy stress.
It IS expensive, but I haven't found a SF chocolate that isn't. There are a few that contain Malitol that is a little cheaper, but prefer these to the ones with M.
I usually only eat one square of them at a time.

Don't know anything about the Guylian's. We don't have a Whole Foods. There is one about an hour's drive away, but rarely make it down there. I don't remember ever seeing that candy. But unless they have dark chocolate, I doubt I'd try it. (Maybe, but doubt it.)

Guylian's makes a dark chocolate orange that is sugarfree which I LOVE! Haven't had it for a while - will have to find me some!

After hearing these Choco-Perfection bars hyped, I was sure they were the best thing in the world. They were terrible. Oh, not inedible, but when *I* leave chocolate on the table, and my husband leaves chocolate on the table, you KNOW it's just not all that good.

And yikes, they were expensive.

Whole Foods has a candy aisle with all sorts of chocolate, including the Guylian sugar-free offerings. Sorry, I do not mean to thread derail, but I did prefer them over Chocoperfection, they are probably the best SF chocolate I've ever had. They are not any more affordable, though, ounce for ounce they are probably even more expensive.

In the interest of full disclosure, I think the Guylian had maltitol, but I didn't have stomach problems--maybe because they were so good, a few small squares were very satisfying. I also melted a few squares in cream to make a chocolate ganache to drizzle on LC cheesecake. So good.

I thought they tasted pretty good for diet chocolate but even one little square does a number on my digestive tract.

I ordered them, and probably would not again. Julie I'll probably just used them for chocolate chips.

The fiber in that stuff gives me horrible side effects. No maltitol, but the inulin is lethal.

(Threadjack alert) I recently found a 90% cocoa bar by Lindt. Wow! I thought the 85% bar was good but I like this one better. I expected it to be bitter but it's not. I really like the mouth-feel and don't mind the lack of sweetness (but not a TOTAL lack). Four squares have 14 g. carbs, 5 g. fiber, and 3 g. sugar. I usually eat one square a day. Forget those phony chocolate bars.

I agree with you, buttonwillow! The 90% has a higher percentage of cocoa butter, which makes the mouthfeel so smooth an creamy. Where do you buy your 90% bars? I think they were at World Market the last time I checked.

This is more appropriate here than in the original thread: I want to thank whomever mentioned that World Market carries the Guylian no-sugar-added bars. I was able to pick up a couple on my lunch hour. Pricey but so good--the Milk chocolate reminds me of Cadbury chocolate. (Warning: maltitol.)
