Yes. I haven't made them, but want to. The one I heard of is where you grate some cheese in a non-stick frying pan and cook until melted. While it is still warm, place it over a bowl that has been turned upside down and let it cool. It will assume a bowl shape when you take it off.

I just made taco shells out of cheese last night for dinner. Just took a paper plate (shiny, glossy kind) and put a layer of shredded cheese on the plate and microwaved until it turned slightly brown (I think about 30 seconds to 1 minute)... then immediately bent into the shape of a taco shell. They will crisp right up. You can also use parchment paper if you don't have the paper plate. Delicious!!!

you can just use a regluar slice of a hard cheese in the microwave on any nonstick surface. cook it till it gets bubbly and lightly browns. then peel it off and you can lay the hot cheese blob over a cup to make taco salad bowls or over the side of a plate edge to make shells.

Hi Issy...
We buy shredded Cheddar from Sam's club in the 5 pound bags, and then break it into ziplocks.

I fire up my small fry pan till it's medium hot (6 on a scale of 8), and drop a handful of cheese in the middle till it melts, spreads out, and browns, flip it and then pat it out on a paper towel.

I often make these about 6 inches across and use them as open face tacos or bend them while they are hot for taco shells. They are very rich, so a couple is all I can handle, but they are good!!
