Do you even put foil in a crockpot? Never done it before and curious.

I use foil in my crockpot all the time for roasting whole chickens and cooking foil packets of different meats and veggies all at the same time.

Is there a special foil for crockpots? If so, I haven't seen it here in Italy. I know we have the plastic clean up bags or something like that.

Hi Kaimi, nothing special. I just use any Heavy Duty aluminum foil or just double up on non heavy duty!

Thanks, will have to give it a try. I'm tired of a messy crockpot.

I have a recipe for Hot Pepper Pork.

2 1/2-3 pounds pork shoulder roast
1 or 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1 large can or 2 small cans enchilada sauce
2 t fajita seasoning

Cook on low for 10 hours. Shred meat. That's the end of the recipe, but I stir in 1 cup of sour cream after it's cooked.

Simple recipe,

Throw one leg of lamb in the crockpot, cook on low 6 hours or so till done.

You can throw it in frozen, just cook it longer. There will be liquid in the pot when done, and you wont need a knife. Very easy.

Pot Roast/Soup 2-for-1!

Pot Roast with a Tasty Twist - 2 Meals in One!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a crockpot...

2 lb Pot Roast
1-2 Can Beef Broth
1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 Medium Onion - Sliced and Cut in Half (to avoid onion strings)
1 Packet Onion Soup Mix (Lower sodium if you want)

Another TWO MEAL DEAL! Pot Roast one night/Soup the next!

How To Prepare: In a crock pot, add roast (I use English or Chuck Roast) - no need to brown, sprinkle soup mix on meat, onion, then Cream of Mushroom soup on top. Cover and cook on low for 8 -10 hours.

For pot roast, you will have a thick and rich gravy...add a salad and you're good to go!

For next day soup, "tear or shred" remaining beef, add 1 - 2 cans beef broth and stir. Makes a rich and tasting beef soup!

Two meals for the work of one! BONUS!

Number of Servings: Depends on how much you share! Probably 4 for the roast and 2 for the soup.

Carbs per serving - I can't imagine any more than 5

Preparation Time: Minimal - No need to brown roast!

Effort (Easy, Average, Difficult): Easy

*** I wonder how this would work with chicken ***

I made crock pot enchiladas last night:

2lbs ground beef, 2 cans red enchilada sauce (12 carbs per can)
Mrs dash lime fiesta seasoning
3 cups cheddar cheese
thinly sliced turkey (deli)

I cooked the ground beef first, added 1 can enchilada sauce and seasoning, and 1 cup cheese, then layered some ground beef, 1 layer of turkey slices, cheese, enchilada sauce in crockpot and made about 3 layers. Cook on high for 1-2 hours, just until the cheese melts. Yummy. I added sour cream, salsa, and black olives on top.
