sugar free pudding? please help.
I have noticed that some people have recipes for sugar free instant pudding, isnt the carb count too high?
Is there a certain brand to buy that is lower carb? thanks, |

I don't know about any specific brand being better than any other but be sure and read your labels carefully in any case!
Also remember, when the recipe calls for SF pudding you're usually only using a portion of the package, not the entire package so you're not getting the entire carb count. And you're only having a serving of the recipe you make as well not the entire recipe. HTH!! |

There is a Mousse mix that is sugar free and has quite a bit less carbs than Jello SF pudding. I can't remember the brand name but I can look it up tonight if you want. But I also use Jello SF pudding some times just don't eat it all at once and not during induction!

SF pudding is good, but I think a little too tempting and tasty. Forget it. Mix sourcream and some Sugar free syrup (your choice) for a quick *pudding*.
Same great texture and smoothness and you can make it in two seconds, with the carb count of sourcream and it's filling. |

I was thinking that yesterday (original poster's comments) when reading labels on puddings at the grocery. All bummed because of the carb count per serving. But you also have to take into account that the prepared counts are for using skim milk. I bet you could try it and see how h/h or heavy cream works w/it too.
Also, with respect to the sour cream "pudding" I never thought of that! But as I was reading about it, I thought ... creme fraische would be great too! and less sour cream-like too. Altho it does have a tang also... I think I'll look up a pudding recipe in Betty crocker and adapt it w/splenda and syrup...see how it goes.
