cooking question.. baked pork chops
Hi. I am trying to make baked pork chops in a can of mushroom soup and sour cream. I just through everything into a pyrex dish and am baking for one hour on 350.
My question is... was I suppose to brown the pork chops before adding the soup and baking? I am worried that I missed a step. Will these still turn out just baked in condensed soup? AJ |

I always brown mine chops first with a little butter and seasoning, then put them in a pyrex casserole and add the soup and sour cream to the frying pan. I cook that until it begins to bubble, scraping all the browned bits from the bottom of the pan and stirring it well. Then I add the soup mixture to the casserole with the pork chops and bake covered for about 15 minutes and uncovered for about 15 minutes. I also do this with boneless chicken thighs. How did your chops turn out?

Oh my gosh... it was good. I used about 1.5 cups of sour cream to 2 cans of soup and a little water... I think next time I will brown to get the yummy crispy bits from the pan.
