Ham Roll-Ups

I always love ham roll-ups and just tried this recipe using green olives. I also added a handful of shredded cheddar to the mix. Do any of you have other recipes using different ingredients you care to share?

Ham Roll-Ups

8oz. Cream Cheese
1/2 Cup Chopped Olives
1/3 Cup Chopped Green Onions
8-10 Slices of Packaged Ham

Let cream cheese sit at room temperature for 15 minutes. Mix olives, onions and cream cheese until well blended. Pat ham slices dry. Spread cheese mixture onto slice, then roll-up. Repeat with all slices then refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes.

Cut rolls into 1/2" rounds.

I don't like olives so I grate up different crunchy veggies such as radish, a bit of carrot even, chopped celery or cucumber and grated spicy cheeses give them a nice kick.

Great ideas.....do any of you use turkey breast too? I am not a fan of most deli turkey breasts but would try it again as a roll up.

I buy the turkey breast from TJ's and do the same thing. Thin sliced roast beef is also good too. I also loved sliced sweet peppers too.

PASTRAMI-DILL BITES
3 dill pickle spears, about 5 inches long, 2 5/8 ounces
5 ounces pastrami, sliced very thin *
Boursin, see recipe below

Cut each pickle spear lengthwise into 3 strips. Pat them dry with paper towels. Pat the pastrami dry. Stack 2 slices of pastrami to make 9 stacks. You may end up with an odd slice, which can be left single. Spread each stack of pastrami with a thin, even layer the Boursin, using all of it. Place a pickle spear on one edge of each stack and roll up jelly roll-style to enclose the pickle. Carefully cut each roll into 4 pieces (see my comments below). Chill well before serving.

Makes 36 pieces

* I used one package of Hillshire Farm Deli Select pastrami. There were 17 slices in the package. The package says that there are zero carbs per serving but the Hidden Carb Calculator says there are close to 2 carbs per serving. I took the average and counted 1 carb per 7 slices.

BOURSIN
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 small clove garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/8 teaspoon dill
1 teaspoon chives
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

In a mini food processor, process the cream cheese and garlic until blended. Add the remaining ingredients and process until well combined.

Per 2 pieces: 31 Calories; 2g Fat; 2g Protein; .5g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; .5g Net Carbs
Per 4 pieces: 62 Calories; 5g Fat; 4g Protein; 1g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 1g Net Carbs

I make them like you except with black olives. going to try the green now! Here are two I found in a cookbook, but have not tried.

Roast beef roll-ups
4 oz cream cheese
1/4 c. minced cilantro
2 to 3 T. minced banana peppers
1 minced garlic clove
mix together and roll in sliced roast beef (1/2 pound

Ham & Turkey roll-ups
12 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup shredded carrot (I think I would use red bell pepper instead)
1/2 cup shredded zucchini
4 teaspoons dill weed
mix & roll in ham & turkey (1/2 pound each)

also in the cookbook they have a corned beef filling they stuffed little pastry puffs with. I bet if you leave out the beef(to wrap with),mayo & sour cream it would make a good wrap. I am putting the recipe as it is, because I think it would make a good dip also.

Corned beef filling
2 8oz. packs of cream cheese
2 packs thinly sliced corned beef chopped
1/2 C. mayo
1/4 C. sour cream
2 T. minced chives
2 T. diced onion
1 teaspoon spicy brown or horseradish mustard
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
10 small stuffed green olives chopped

Mix all together

I use turkey breast to make roll ups. I like to fill them with Cranberry Cream Cheese.

Ohhh, what if you add some sauer kraut to this mixture? Kinda like a pastrami sandwich?

I made roll ups from Boar's Head Rosemary/Tomato ham slices, with cream cheese and finely minced shrimp and celery last night. Awesome! Thanx for the recipe!

my favorite go-to roll up is as simple as it gets - ham rolled around cream cheese and dill pickle. The other day I was trying to get some veggies in so I chopped up the dill pickle to mix in with the cream cheese, spread it in celery sticks and then rolled the ham around it.

I also really love roast beef roll ups with cream cheese (the garlic and herb cream cheese is especially nice for this variety), black pepper, banana peppers, green onion and grape tomatoes.

Thanks for reminding me about this old favorite. The variations listed here sound like great ideas, and this is on the menu for tomarrow!
