I have decided to make this for Mother's day, taking dessert for my own Mothers Day dinner.
I also wanted to bump this up. |

O.M.G.!!! I made this today on a dry run, thinking if it didn't turn out I could make something else. It is to die for!!!!! So rich!! I didn't use the erythitrol, so it was a little slim on the pudding part. I will just use more eggs and cream cheese, since this is basically like the cream cheese muffins and it will be thicker that way. I am also going to double the recipe and take a bigger pan of it. There will be lots of people there.
Ok, Julie, now you know how I liked it!!! Think it will be a holiday dessert also.![]() ![]()

Gina......Yes, there is a no bake version.
Just follow the crust and filling recipe from the Fruit Pizza here: FRUIT PIZZA, NOW NO BAKE WITH A TROPICAL TWIST Make as follows: 1) Make the crust in the Fruit Pizza recipe as written 2) Make the filling in the Fruit Pizza recipe as written and spread on crust 3) Add banana layer 4) Cover bananas with 1/2 of whip cream (from the Banana Split Cake recipe) 5) Add pineapple and then cover with second half of whip cream 6) Add walnuts, cherries, and sugar free chocolate syrup (optional) Lindaokc..........glad you enjoyed it! I also plan to cut out the Erythritol next time and make it just like I mentioned to Gina above. ScottsdaleJulie..........glad you enjoyed it too! This is probably a top 2 desert for me. Some people are afraid of the carbs in the cherries, but it's really the cherries and chocolate sauce that give this recipe the finishing touch and make it taste just like a real banana split! Two more tips (repeated), 1) dip your bananas in the pineapple juice before placing them on the cake, that way they will not turn brown. 2) You MUST put this in the freezer for 15-20 minutes before eating. The cream cheese layer will taste much more like real ice cream! Last edited by bobo36us; 06-12-2010 at 02:47 PM.. |

dollkey...........Cashews are mostly fat just like Macadamias, and they're
very "buttery" too. I would think those would be best, maybe even better than the macadamias. |

I made this as it was originally written because I had all the ingredients for it and everyone loved it!!!
I want to make it again for a cookout next weekend but I am not sure what the equivalents are for the 1 scoop Stevia (or liquid Stevia equivilant) and the 3 scoops Sucralose (or liquid Splenda equivilant). I have the powdered Stevia extract, but I have no scoop that came with it, so I'm not sure what the measurement would be for 1 scoop. I also have the liquid splenda, so how much would be the equivalent of 3 scoops of the sucralose? TIA! I can't wait to try the no bake version!! |

In reading this recipe I was thinking of what to sub for the bananas (don't think after 10+ years of low carbing I can ever look at bananas the same again!!) and pineapple. Thanks for the suggestion as I have both berries in my fridge. I just may have to make this for Father's Day tomorrow!!!

Gina, there are differing brands of the powdered Stevia and each has their own strengths/amounts to use. I would just test, starting w/ 1/8th t. in the recipe and a couple drops of liquid splenda and then add accordingly. When I sub differing sweeteners, that's what I do. I just start small and continue to add until it tastes sweet enough. I just add according to what I am sweetening, so if there is lemon juice/vinegar, it will start w/ more than just sweetening cream cheese or whipped cream. HTH.

Added to my faves for the Christmas Holidays. I can't imagine changing anything but dipping the bananas in pineapple juice. I dip them in lemon if I have no pineapple so I know this works really well. I will just have to go for the cherries. Maybe I can find some real cherries and cook and sweeten them myself but for two carbs, and the Holidays..probably not. Thanks for the recipe. I think I'm in love. <3

I made this for Thanksgiving after my pumpkin pie didn't turn out, and it has to be one of the most delicious low carb recipes (or high carb for that matter ) that I've ever made! I added some unsweetened coconut to the almond flour and blended it together, and it was like a cookie. I substituted a melted lindt square for the chocolate drizzle, and added sf raspberry sauce because I didn't have cherries. The only bad thing is I almost polished off half the pan myself! Great dessert!

When I make it, I cut the cherries into 4ths. Really lowers the carb count. Julie
