Just a note on this recipe - if you can find Old Wisconsin wieners in the grocery store, they have 0 carbs, so they lower the carb count of this recipe. These are the old fashioned wieners (not really hot dogs) that are linked together. Stores that carry Old Wisconsin products can be found on their website.

You are so right! You really have to read hot dog packages. I get Oscar Mayer and they are 1 or less. But this recipe is awesome...my DH complained when he saw the picture (thought it looked like something the dog brought back up), but he loved the casserole! I spice it up a little more and put a little sour cream and hot sauce on top to taste.

I made this Friday nite, and WOW!! We loved it! Bob kind of looked sideways at it for a minute, but bravely tried it :-), and just raved. It tastes JUST like a chili dog. Yum!! I sauteed some broccoli in canola oil, added garlic and hot pepper flakes, and had that on the side for a wonderful EASY BREEZY dinner.

Glad I saw this thread and checked the ingr. list before it was too late!

Wow Great Minds and all!!

I made this yesterday and DH loved it, me too. I also did not have tomato sauce, so I used some of my home canned tomato juice and some tomato paste. It was very good, we will be having leftovers for supper tonight.
