Just a note on this recipe - if you can find Old Wisconsin wieners in the grocery store, they have 0 carbs, so they lower the carb count of this recipe. These are the old fashioned wieners (not really hot dogs) that are linked together. Stores that carry Old Wisconsin products can be found on their website.

I made this Friday nite, and WOW!! We loved it! Bob kind of looked sideways at it for a minute, but bravely tried it :-), and just raved. It tastes JUST like a chili dog. Yum!! I sauteed some broccoli in canola oil, added garlic and hot pepper flakes, and had that on the side for a wonderful EASY BREEZY dinner.

I am making this tomorrow for the first time.. Just realized I used the last cans of tom. sauce last night on my stuffed peppers.
Glad I saw this thread and checked the ingr. list before it was too late! |

Wow Great Minds and all!!
I made this yesterday and DH loved it, me too. I also did not have tomato sauce, so I used some of my home canned tomato juice and some tomato paste. It was very good, we will be having leftovers for supper tonight. |
