out of whiskey! ? to sub with...

I *thought* I had some whiskey up in the cabinet.... and I'm making a Bourbon glazed cajun tenderloin that's half way done in the oven. Any ideas for a sub? Can't run to the liquor store w/ my 18 month old... I have tequila?

Sorry, no help there, but Why can't you go to a liquor store with 18 month old? It's not illegal? Just curious

flavor extracts? I've got rum and brandy flavor extracts in my cupboard.

Tequila and bourbon don't taste anything alike, other than that whole alcohol thing. Another whiskey might be helpful, Scotch/Irish/Rye...

It is illegal here to take a minor in a liquor store and it's illegal to leave them out in the running car...

guess I'll just use beef broth and the other ingredients for the glaze.

Wow! Really???

See? I love this place.
I learn something new every day!

I find that so odd, though. Do they sell beer and wine in grocery stores or is that only at a liquor store too?

They only sell wine coolers and 3.2% beer at the grocery stores... everything else from the liquor store. Wierd how things vary from state to state!

Now why is it OK for minors to be present around the purchasing of one thing and not the other?
So strange some of the laws we have in this country.
Anyway. Sorry for the threadjack.
