Malt flavor

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good malt flavored protein powder. I don't mean chocolate malt - I mean malt! I love(d) chocolate malts, but I love(d) vanilla malts, too, and it would be great to be able to make protein shakes with it. I can always add a little cocoa powder or vanilla extract, depending on the flavor I want.

Barring a good malt protein powder, can anyone recommend an alternative? I noticed that the Nature's Flavors malt flavoring got mixed reviews on here (and they are very expensive, even before adding shipping costs!); I don't see a Da Vinci malt flavor, though.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Haven't tried this, and don't know if you can afford the carbs, but King Arthur Flour (google them as I don't believe I am allowed to post the link here) sells malt powder online, 3 net carbs per TBSP:

Malted Milk Powder
Item # 1021

Ingredients: barley malt, wheat, milk, bicarbonate of soda, salt. Processed in a facility that also packages products containing eggs, milk, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

HTH,

I can buy Carnation malted milk powder (designed to be mixed into milkshakes to make them into malts) at the grocery store, but it's pretty high carb. If anyone has a resource for a malt "extract" that would just give the flavor, I'd probably buy a gallon or more! In my hc days, I never cared for milkshakes, but dearly loved malts!

Well, there's a site called "Nature's Flavors" that has a malt flavor, but the reviews of them on here are mixed at best. I found a post on another site, though, that says their malt flavor is very good. They are expensive and I've heard that their shipping is also expensive, so I'm not reading to spend that much for something that might turn out to be a complete bust.
