Paprika Chicken recipe anyone?
Went out to dinner on Saturday night and I got Paprika chicken (actually was chicken paprika????? something and I made sure it wasn't dusted with flour) with a double order or veggies, it was very good.
I know it had some mushrooms, onions and sour cream, does anyone have a recipe for something like this? |

Here's one I found on the net...It doesn't have the mushrooms, but I would saute them with the onion, then remove them and put them back in when you are making the "gravy".
You could serve this over Dreamfields. This recipe calls for a whole chicken, but if you are using just boneless chicken breasts, you would definitely cook it less. CHICKEN PAPRIKA 3-4 lbs. chicken, cut up 1/2 c. finely chopped onion 1 tbsp. salt or to taste 1 tbsp. paprika 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. oil 1 1/2 c. chicken broth 1 c. sour cream Egg noodles Saute onion in oil until tender. Combine salt, paprika, and black pepper and stir into onions. Add chicken and fry until all sides are lightly coated. Add chicken broth and cover. Cook about 1 1/2 hours or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken from skillet. Blend sour cream into liquid in pan. Add cooked Dreamfield noodles and coat them well with sauce. Return chicken to the pan. Serve hot.. Makes 6 servings.

I believe you may be referencing an old Hungarian recipe known to my family as
Chicken Paprikash. The recipe above looks pretty good - but we don't use egg noodles, we use dumplings or spatzel. It tastes fine without the doughy noodle stuff, and pretty low carb without that as well. ![]() |
