HF Balls - Oh my goodness!!!!

I can't remember who but someone posted a recipe for these AWESOME treats a few days ago. I just got home and made them and stuck them in the fridge immediately - these will definately be a weekend thing only as portion control is my issue!

One secret - don't get the cream cheese too soft!

mmmm....

They are cream cheese balls -

8 oz cream cheese (softened)
8 packets of splenda
chopped pecans

Mix together and roll into balls - I made 8 really large ones then roll them in the pecans.....

So goood!

Thanks, that sounds pretty tasty. My favorite candy of all time is those pecan divinity balls rolled in pecans you get at Stuckey's and places down south. Maybe they would be a little this this if you add enough splenda!

They sound REALLY good. I think I'll try them. I wouldn't think the carb count would be high...cream cheese and pecans.

Those sound good. You've given me some ideas for other types of cream cheese balls. Like peanut butter, cream cheese and Splenda. Yum!

I'd stay away from Splenda and try adding Stevia instead (in verrrry small doses until you know what you like).

They should only have 1 - 2 carbs each. The splenda has less than one per packet and 1 oz of cream cheese has 1 - 8 oz = 8 carbs.

HTH

Counting carbs. Total carbs divided by # of portions.

Pecans are 5g carb per ounce. Sweetener has some carbs, unless it is stevia, which I think is zero carb in miniscule amounts. If I use an ounce of pecans and 8oz of cream cheese to make 12 HFBalls, with stevia to sweeten, I'd count a carb a ball.

These sound really good. I might add stevia instead of splenda because powdered splenda can raise your blood sugar...just found it out.....

Darn you all and your new recipes! Now I'm feeling the need to make some high fat balls (without snickering.) Reminds me of that old SNL skit with Alec Baldwin on the call-in cooking show..

The recipe I saw also included a stick of butter, so you would be able to get more servings for less carbs.

Hi
I made some tonight. I added a bit of pure almond extract and finely chopped almonds, rolled into balls and froze. Very good!

Gladsome, did it work to freeze them? Everytime I freeze cream cheese it doesn't work for me. It changes the texture and it gets weird and crumbly. I got tired of throwing things away...

The ones with the butter (or coconut oil) are Linda Sue's recipe: Cream Cheese Clouds - not rolled in nuts, but are frozen. They are delish.

Ooooo...I think I'm going to have to use some of my Capella flavor drops in these! Pralines and Cream might be good, or maybe Creme Brulee?

8 packets would be equal to 16 teaspoons, so 5 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon would equal, but I'm not sure if Davinci's would be sweeter than the powder.
