Cinnamon Syrup

Anyone have any ideas for using Davinci's Sugar free Cinnamon syrup? I bought it thinking it would be fun, but haven't figured out a good recipe where it would fit.

Thanks for any suggestions

I posted this on another thread here but this is what I did with my davinci's.

I made a wonderful caramel sauce for putting on my oopsie rolls.

1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup cream
1/4 cup davinci's
2 oz cream cheese

Melt the butter in skillet until it starts to turn slightly golden, then add cream and cream cheese, stir until melted. (you should have the heat set to medium)
Then add the davinci's and even more cinamon if you wish. Should make a great sauce for pancakes and such!

I have the cinnamon DaVinci's too. I haven't found a lot of uses for it. It just wasn't what I was thinking of. Odd thing is, awhile back (quite a while back!) I was wanting something to sub for red hots, and I think this would work great. Problem is, I can't remember now what I wanted it for.

It just doesn't have the taste that I usually want from cinnamon. It does taste quite like cinnamon flavored "Stuff", but not what I'm usually looking for. And doesn't have the benfits of real cinnamon (at least I don't think it does).

Hopefully we'll get some ideas from others.

I make a heard candy out of gelatin, splenda, and Koolaid. Could you make the candy using Cinnamon Davincis and gelatin? It might taste like red hots.

Hmmmm...... I have a recipe for non fruit "fruit leather" that I tied once using Anise flavoring (for a licorice candy). I dried it much too long, and it was hard ribbon candy. Yep, I bet I could use the cinnamon syrup in that and have hard cinnamon candy. I need to figure out how to mold it. Some kind of disc would be good. Cause the strips I made are just too hard to eat the way I dried them. Anyway that sounds like something I might try one of these days.

Wish I could remember why I wanted a sub for red hots.

My recipe for hard candies is a take-off on the fruit leather. I have changed it slightly to make it more user friendly.
Anise Hard Candy
4 envelopes gelatin
1/2 cup water
3/4 c sweetener (I use Sweetzfree)

Put all ingredients in a silicone cake pan. Nuke for 1 1/2 minutes. Stir with a silicone spatula. Nuke 1 more minute. Scrape onto a silcone lined cookie sheet. spread around on the mat until it covers most of it. Let cool 1/2 hour. Slice (I do this right on the silicone liner) lengthwise and widthwise into squares about 1 inch across. Peel off sections and lay out to dry. (This is the pain in the neck part.) It will be ready in 1 1/2 to 2 days. Does not seem to interest little creatures like ants. I make several batches over the weekend. It can be stored in little plastic baggies. It does not go bad. Hardly any carbs at all.

You could use cinnamon davincis instead of water. I don't know if there is cinnamon extract, but it might be needed to boost flavor.

soobee...would this work per chance using glass bakeware & then scraping it onto waxed paper or parchment or non stick foil? I don't have any silicon stuff so just curious. Thanks

I forgot to add the flavoring for the candy recipe. I use 1 t anise extract OR 1 pkg cherry Kool-ade. I don't knw about parchment or nonstick foil, becuase I haven't tried it, but I think it would work.
