YIKES! HELP with (kevinPa) bread recipe
Okay....oh what a dunce I am *** to be written 100 times over & over*** sigh......
![]() I have made this several times NO problems. Well today I decided to make a loaf & did not put my reading glasses on for the recipe . Dumped all in bread machine (like I normally do), then when I got ready to take it out (after it had already mixed, kneaded, rested etc)...it was pure goo!!!! After going thru everything I realized without my glasses on...I mis-read the measuring cup I was using so I was 2/3 cup SHY on the LC flour mixture.I DID add the extra flour needed and it is currently going thru the machine cycles again. Question is..... will it still rise & bake???? (I don't mean rise in the bread machine as I always remove the dough & rise in a warm oven). If it is totally screwed up.... can I do/make anything with wonky dough or best just to pitch it and make another batch??? Thanks for any help Julie |

I'm sure no pro at baking bread, lc or otherwise, but I think it will come out okay as long as you didn't let it rise before you rekneaded it.
AFAIK, the primary difference between lc bread and hc bread is that lc bread will only give you one rise. |

I am just now figuring this out, but as Kisal said, if it didn't rise first, it will probably be OK. The extra kneading may in fact help it.
But by now you probably already know. Let us know how it turned out. Inquiring minds want to know. |

well...after 1 hour & 40 minutes in a warm oven .... it has risen VERY little
I pre-heat oven to 150 then turn it off...then place in oven to rise. Never had any problems so hopefully after a couple more hours it will be okay. Sure hope so. I felt like such a dope using incorrect measuring cup![]() Will let you know more after awhile longer. I sure hope your right & the extra kneading helps in the long run ![]() |

I goofed big time with my last loaf of bread. Let's just say, I'm glad I didn't burn my house down, and lucky that my bread even came out edible.
It was small, and pretty dense this time, but we've been eating it. I need to make another loaf tomorrow. This one is almost gone.Hope yours will turn out well Motts Landing. |
