I have the flan in the fridge! It has to sit, covered, for 8 hours or more, so tomorrow morning I'll pull it out, taste it, and if I don't vomit, I'll take pictures and post the recipe!

Finally got back about the SA..They bother me..however, there are 9 servings in the whole jar and 13 SA's per serving. My 1/3 of a jar covered 6 oopsies..So that would be 6 SA's for each oopsie..
I think there is a recipe for caramel sauce somewhere on this board..but this was very easy and good..with NO aftereffects. Of course, I only ate 1. |

Thank you, Carolyn! I have to seriously ask because SA's totally kill me. I wish to heck they didn't. I miss out on some tasty stuff! Grrrr...
The good news is I can live vicariously through you! No pressure. I appreciate you taking the time to look and to respond. |

OK....i got the oopsie bug again.....i made lasagna with them today. I used the basic oopsie (3 egg) recipe and added parmasan cheese to the yolks and made the 6. When they were cool I could only use 2 because of the dishes i used but you could use three for a nice layered look. I seriously could not tell they were oopsie's. It was filling and I am satisfied. Everyone else had regular homemade lasagna. I put italian sausage, mozz and ricotta in mine. everyone else had ground meat. here's what it looked like:

WOW! Seriously?!
How did you do it? Did you bake the layers before using, or did you layer the batter in between the other ingredients? That looks seriously gorgeous! |

i made the individual oopsie's. i was hoping to use 3 to layer but my dishes would only hold 2 with a layer of meat and cheese inbetween. I will make it again in a bigger pan. i suppose you could do it the other ways too....make a thin layer in a sheet pan or just spread in the pan and bake it all together. this way it made individual lasagna's...i should have only ate half of it!!!! it was too good.

well that dish is a bit bigger than a ramekin......it could make a small souffle...........a regular sized oopsie fit right in the bottom. it's bigger than a custard cup is what i am trying to say!!! i always thought that ramekins were that size.......am i speaking english tonight???? geez.........

Oooooh, I can see this made by spreading the oopsie batter in a thin layer in a jelly-roll pan, then cutting it into wide strips to use for lasagne after baking.

yep that would work too Madam! i liked it in these dishes cuz it makes it individualized! Cleo...don't look to me to know what a bowl or a dish is called!! what i was trying to say is that i thought that ramekins were the size of custard cups!!!!! phew.......this dish would probably hold a cup or two of liquid. i use them for dips primarily.

I just made mini crullers today and added cocoa to the yolk mix YUMMY!! I didn't have the things for the topping recipe so by adding cocoa to the mix I still had a chocolate fix.

I have read through all the pages, looking for the recipe for "cheesecake", that I saw, months ago. Cleo, did you ever post a recipe, for that??? Now, this thread mentions making carmel sauce. Did anyone make a nice one? The ice cream topping doesn't set well with me!
Funny, because I can eat the strawberry one, but not the carmel. Hmmmmm! Don't know why! I've missed out on some of the good stuff, because of computer problems, but, I am searching for the cheesecake recipe! Cleo had a picture of it, and no recipe. HELP!!!

I was there with the cheesecake... and then in a moment of clarity, I swore off all artificial sweeteners. I can't tell you how much better I feel already.
Now, I'm starting over and hope to be able to provide something with an alternate sweetener. Sorry for the teasing only to say, "No!" I am not going to willingly hand out recipes using Splenda or Aspartame because of what I now know it has done to me. |

I've never had a problem with Stevia. My Nutritionist (a pretty savy lady) says Stevia is the way to go. Three years ago she told me to ditch Splenda because it causes the body to use 4x's the amount of Chromium than Sugar uses. Splenda can cause a Chromium deficiency. If that is the case, as you can see below Splenda is worse for your metabolism then Sugar When I first went to her DH and I both had a massive Chromium deficiency and we were very tired all the time. Her handling was for us to ingest massive quantities of Chromium for a month. Dietary Supplement Fact Sheet: Chromium Chromium is known to enhance the action of insulin [1-3], a hormone critical to the metabolism and storage of carbohydrate, fat, and protein in the body [4]. In 1957, a compound in brewers' yeast was found to prevent an age-related decline in the ability of rats to maintain normal levels of sugar (glucose) in their blood [3]. Chromium was identified as the active ingredient in this so-called "glucose tolerance factor" in 1959 [5]. Chromium also appears to be directly involved in carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism [1-2,6-11], but more research is needed to determine the full range of its roles in the body.

Oh btw Cleo... I use a mixture of the two because I believe the texture is better then with plan liquid.
The recipe I use is the one for Cream Cheese Muffins here in the database. |

I think the product is called "WheyLow"? I've been trying to get up the nerve to order some, since it sounds like such a safe sweetening substitute, but as soon as I order some, it'll be plastered all over the evening news saying "WheyLow" causes blindness, ulcers, and male pattern baldness!!
(Just kidding!) |
