Hamburger,Cabbage, Noodle Comfort Food

Low Carb Here's what I do for a meal that fills me waaaaaaay up all day.
Comfort Food!!!
Barbo's Cabbage & Ground Meat Noodle Dish
4 Large Servings

1/2 large head of very fresh firm cabbage, sliced like noodles.
1 lb.. good ground beef or pork
4 eggs, beaten
*2 bags of Shirataki or Miracle noodles, drained very well, then thrown into a non-stick skillet with 1/2 - 1 tsp.
roasted sesame oil and stir fried by tossing for a few minutes. Set aside.
Onion powder with parsley (onions too high carb for me)
Sesame oil
Light olive oil
Vietnamese hot sauce
Good quality soy sauce or Tamari sauce
black pepper
white pepper
Kosher salt to taste
Green scallions, chopped for garnish

Brown ground meat in a bit of sesame oil. Drain all fat off. Set aside
Add vegetable oil to skillet and stir fry the cabbage, tossing constantly.
Add seasonings except for hot sauce. When cabbage is nicely wilted down,
add burger meat, and the noodles.
Push stir fry around pan leaving an opening in center. Pour in half the beaten
eggs and scramble, stir back into pan, Continue with the remainder of the egg,
and scramble, then combine all together. Taste for seasonings. Either add
Vietnamese hot sauce or put it on table. Garnish each bowl with chopped scallions.

*Once you understand how to prepare the noodles in advance, they
are wonderful. Drain them into a collander, and rinse the heck out of them
in hot water for a good 3 minutes. Drain. Heat a non-stick skillet with a little
sesame oil for whatever oil and stir fry them for about 3 minutes. Off heat
and set aside. They are ready to be used in recipes.

Marking my spot, 'cause I'm out of printer ink this weekend and it's toooo cold to go to Wally World!

Barbo, this just sounds wonderful! I'm going to have to order some of the noodles, haven't tried them yet.

Shirataki should be in super markets

They are much cheaper than Miracle noodles. Try a farm market or
health food store. Do some online shopping since it's so darned cold
and gas is so high.

Glad you liked my recipe. We sure did and have the left overs for
brunch today.

I know there's been lots of discussion about these noodles, but do you have a preference between the two brands as far as flavor, texture, and/or ease of preparation?

Just wondering!

Noodles

When you learn how to prepare them and get that yukky water that
they are packed in out of them and then stir fry with fragrant oil.
Then I would say the Shiratak because they are cheap and readily available. I use them mainly with Asian dishes but also needle soup, beefy noodles,
etc. I bought the Miracle Noodles to try them and like them too but the
expense is so much greater. I get a bag of Shirataki for about $1.40 and
perhaps you can get them for less if you have super WalMarts available,
which we do not have in So.Cal.

I get my shiataki at an Asian market for $1.19 a bag. I haven't seen them at Walmart yet, have you?

I haven't found them at our Super Wal-Marts here in SW Missouri, but may be looking in the wrong section of the store, since I found out a while back that the Lavash bread was in front of the deli section!
