I make Scotch eggs a couple times a week! It's nice having something easy to grab and go. And DS (Mr Bodybuilding Protein boy) eats them non stop!
Ooops. I don't use that recipe. Just 1 16oz Jimmy Dean Sausage to 4 hard boiled eggs. So simple! Hollandaise sauce is awesome over these too! Last edited by BarbDe; 02-11-2008 at 05:38 PM.. |

I've never had a scotch egg in my life. I may have to give this a try. I'm not a fan of plain hard boiled eggs tho. I like egg salad and stuff like that but not plain. Do you think I would like this?

I sprinkled just a tad bit of salt in the yolk of each one, when I cut the scrotch egg in half to eat it. Yummy |

Thanks Sammi! I will give them a try then! I hope I like them as they sound like a great quick snack if you have some already made up.

The recipe for hollandaise, you ask? The one I use is super easy and super duper delish. Has raw eggs in it, though, so it's certainly not for the young the old or the immuno-impaired. Toss three egg yolks, a tablespoon lemon juice, a dash of salt, a dash of cayene and a healthy pinch of dried dill into the blender. Start the blender and then verrrrry slowwwwwly drizzle in a stick of melted butter. It'll whip up into something lovely. Hollandaise is actually just like mayonnaise except with butter instead of oil.

Here's the one I use.
Hollandaise sauce makes EVERYTHING taste better! Hollandaise Sauce Ingredients 4 egg yolks 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (1 stick) Pinch cayenne Pinch salt Directions Vigorously whisk the egg yolks and lemon juice together in a stainless steel bowl and until the mixture is thickened and doubled in volume. Place the bowl over a saucepan containing barely simmering water (or use a double boiler,) the water should not touch the bottom of the bowl. Continue to whisk rapidly. Be careful not to let the eggs get too hot or they will scramble. Slowly drizzle in the melted butter and continue to whisk until the sauce is thickened and doubled in volume. Remove from heat, whisk in cayenne and salt. Cover and place in a warm spot until ready to use for the eggs benedict. If the sauce gets too thick, whisk in a few drops of warm water before serving.

sexywine,Most of the recipes are induction friendly. I believe if they are not they say so. I don't know how to link to threads (but I will try). There are a few you should check out also. Any of the Oopsie threads, My Cauliflower Lasagna My cauliflower breadsticks You won't believe it's cauliflower pizza crust! These threads add a variety to induction that you won't believe. Here is the address to Linda Sue's Low Carb Menus and Recipes: Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home Hope this helps |
