Ziploc Ice Cream
This was found in the Recipe Room..I just made some for lunch but put in some protein powder, strawberries, half CC milk/half cream..and whirled it in
my bullet..It is very good and very easy... ![]() ZIPLOC ICE CREAM 1 tablespoon artificial sweetener 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract 1/2 cup Heavy Cream 6 tablespoons Table Salt 3 cups Ice 1 Sandwich Sized Ziploc Bag 1 Gallon Sized Ziploc Bag How To Prepare: (No Ice Cream Maker Needed. It really Works, trust me!!) In the sandwich sized ziploc, combine the sugar substitute, vanilla extract and heavy cream. Seal the bag and shake lightly to mix ingredients. In the gallon sized ziploc bag, add 3 cups of ice (or fill half the bag with ice)and add 6 tablespoons of table salt. Place the seal sandwich sized bag into the gallon bag and seal the gallon bag. Shake the entire contents for at least 4 minutes (shake longer for harder ice cream). Once desired hardness has been achieved, remove smaller baggies and rinse throughly with cold water (if you miss this step, you may wind up with salty ice cream!) Recipe makes about a 1/2 cup of ice cream. I have doubled the recipe and it still works well. I am also sure that you can add additional ingredients (cocoa powder, etc) to create different flavors of ice cream. Lastly for our friends and relatives who aren't on low carb diets, they can use milk and regular sugar rather than the cream and sugar substitute. Carbs per serving - include all nutritional information if known: 5g carbs total Preparation Time: Effort (Easy, Average, Difficult): Easy Source: RLP1 This Recipe was found at LowCarbFriends.com Last edited by CarolynF : 06-21-2007 at 10:20 PM. You're welcome..and the main thing is: portion control..I just ate mine out of the little baggie. I put the little baggie in a cereal bowl for support and enjoyed it..

Smart thinking! I just explained this to my daughters...we could make ice cream, but they would have to make their own...and nobody touches anyone else's. LOL

It is great..And today at Wallie World, I saw a camping ice cream maker..It's like a big ball with an insert that you probably roll around..But this is lots cheaper..and NO DISHES.

Hmmm sounds gorgeous but the no dishes bit worries me....so do you just chuck the plastic bags in the trash? Would you not wash and use again. those ziplok bags are pretty heavy duty plastic
I make kind of ice cream by mushing up berries and cream and freezing. give a couple of stirs as it freezes. I don't use sweeteners. You get used to the flavours, it's like not using salt |

You sure could "recycle" the bags. The big gallon one with the ice would be much easier to recycle. You could also recycle the little one, making sure you washed it with hot water and soap and rinsed it very well to get it sparkly clean for reuse.
