I have all her cookvooks, and they are among my favorites. I love her 500 Low carb Recipes and her 500 More Low Carb Recipes. I use her Slow Cooker book all the time. I enjoy, but use less her barbecue, smoothie, and Every Calorie Counts books. The last one she upped the carbs a little to save calories. I have to be extremely careful of my carbs, so it's not as useful to me, but many people love it.

![]() Yes, most of the recipes use readily ingredients and they are pretty darn easy. I highly recommend this cookbook. Like Soobee pointed out, her latest cookbook features higher carb recipes so I can't vouch for that one. You have the Smoothie book Soobee? How are the recipes in it? |

frozen chicken breast
Soy Sauce Tarragon Vinegar Throw it all in a casserole dish with a lid, making sure the chicken breasts are really well covered with the sauce and bake for an hour at about 400 (depending on your oven). Simple and easy and makes good snacks when cut into strips. Good time saver when you can't watch a skillet. Could throw all this in a crock too in case you can't be at home. |

They look very interesting. I am not a big smoothie drinker, so I have only tried a few. She has some good ideas while keeping the carb count down.

Crock Pot Roast
Thank you all for the great recipes. Here's one of my favs.
Janice Crock Pot Roast 3-4 lb chuck roast (leaner roasts like shoulder don't have quite the flavor) 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup Salt and pepper 1 medium onion, quartered Salt and pepper raw roast and place in crock pot. Place undiluted soup and onion on top. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Enjoy. You can remove the roast when you get home from work and put carrots, potatoes and/or mushrooms in the "gravy". Turn crock pot setting to "hi" for about an hour.

Fashay - Walmart for the B-Q Sauce and either Walmart or probably any grocery store for S.F. Marmalade. The Kraft magazine is where I got the recipe, just changed to make lc and added spices and thickened sauce.

I can't find the Low Carb BBQ Sauce, does Heinz still make it?
Tweaker Geek, I love how you have "Noddy" in your icon. My three year old neice loves Noddy, she found it on PBS Kids one morning when she was two and watches it constantly. |

Look for KC Masterpiece Classic Blend. It's low carb/low calorie and lower in both than Kraft, plus it taste ALOT better. Some places have it, some don't.
Recipe for those that like spicy beef or pork roast small jar of pepperocini peppers put roast in crock pot, add salt/pepper put jar of pepperocini peppers in, juice & all cook til it falls apart....(probably 4-6 hrs) pull w/ forks, add BBQ sauce OR don't cook so long and eat with or without BBQ. Yummy |

I have some chicken tenders, frozen whole green beans, and some Italian dressing mixed together in the crock pot. Looks and smells really good. Gonna serve that with some penne pasta tonight.

I had the best meal last night!
I went to Giant Food Store and picked up the asian chili/garlic sauce (1 carb for 1 TBSP) and some chili oil. I like spicy food. I got to thinking this is really nothing added but red pepper flakes. So i went home last night and had some left over wingettes. I put them in a large skillet. I poured one bottle of low carb BBQ sauce over the wings. I then sprinkled red pepper flakes and 1 packet of splenda over the BBQ sauce . I kept spooning and turning the wings in the sauce and keeping them covered. Then i got a great idea! Why not add raw brocolli to it! So i got some raw brocolli out and put in in the pan also.....I felt the steam would soften the brocolli. Continued to keep it covered and spooning the sauce over the brocolli and chicken wings. Once the brocolli was a little softened, i turned off the heat and just left it covered. I then put it on to plates and put some soy sauce on it and WOWOWOWOWOW it was fantastic! Definately will use this BBQ recipe with dried red pepper flakes on a chuck roast in the slow cooker.....YUM YUM YUM!!!!!!

Seth, as far as I know, you can still get the Heinz One at Walmart.
Fashay, I used garlic powder and I think a bit of sesame oil, black pepper and I thickened it with xanthan gum. I'm glad to see this again, think I'll make it this weekend. |
