I alternate the veggies with kale, cabbage, spinach, broccoli and broccoli sprouts but basically this week it's

1 cup of ff yogurt (plain)
1/2 cup aloe vera juice
1/4 cup frozen blueberries sometimes strawberries (higher antioxidents in BB)
5 cups of chopped veggies (this week it has been chards of color, mustard, collard and turnip greens, spinach and broccoli sprouts)
1/4 cup flax meal
1/8 cup coconut milk (this is new experiment)
1 tbs. peanut butter

I have a vita mix which I love. It purifies everything! My veggies for the rest of the day are "bonus" veggies which then is about 2 cups with dinner. Usually roasted mixed veggies w/olive oil.

Hey there.....
taste: DH says tolerable......I say cool, veggie/berry kind of thick......I love it now! I really miss it when I don't have it.
texture: creamy

Candy.....it usually makes about 2 quarts....one for DH and one for me. It does end up being about 5 cups of veggies each.

Its very hard to describe.....it's unlike anything else you would normally eat. I kind of cut off my supplements when I started doing this. It also gives me all of the green nutrition I need for the day. I do eat veggies every night with dinner but should I choose not to, I'm still ahead of the game.

Oh, this has me interested! I've always wondered about the possibility of a veggie shake.

I'm going to have to experiment a bit & try a version with protein powder added to make a complete meal. Maybe add a little Stevia...or is this something that you think is better less sweet?

The Eades have something called Paleolithic Punch that uses blueberries, strawberries & raspberries to make a great anti-oxidant drink.

Would frozen broccoli work I wonder?

Hmmm....interesting thanks for sharing! I love the idea of getting so many healthy foods into a meal!

Can someone please tell me how the aloe vera juice tastes? I've never seen it anywhere. Is it available at whole foods market? I'm gonna do a google on the health benefits of aloe vera juice. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration!

I used a regular blender while traveling in December. A food processor is a great idea to break up the veggies and then transferring to a blender.

Wal mart has aloe vera juice by the gallon near the laxatives.

Oh, so healthy! There are a lot of great blended drinks to try.

I also have a Vita-Mix, and I absolutely love that machine. My son uses a small Tri-something or other that makes one glass of a blended drink. It was like $50 and so not worth it. The Vita-Mix is expensive, but it is worth every penny IMHO.

OK Fawn. I'm makin' this baby today. I don't have yogurt, but I'll use my plain kefir. Should I prepare myself for any bathroom surprises, since I'm a "Fawn's Jolly Green Goo Poo" virgin?

You're drink was so-named by my DH. Thought you'd appreciate it.

You crack me up!! Should I be flattered? Will you thank me for a healthy clean colon later?

Kefir is an awesome replacement for yogurt! Enjoy and tell me what you think!

It's very good! I drink it in the morning well mid morning I should say after my workout. If I don't work out and have ameeting, I take it to work and drink it slowly there. I usually eat 3 times a day. I had my shake so late today that I just ate a deviled egg now and will have chicken sesame stirfry for dinner.

I have yet to try this, but for maximum antioxidants for less sugar, I think I will use goji/acai/mangosteen/noni juice instead of berries, and fewer veggies. I'm diabetic, and any more than 5-6 grams carbs raises blood sugar too much.

Thanks for the recipe, can't wait to give it a go. Hope it works in my cheapie blender.

OK, as nasty as this sounds, I have to try it! I think I will half the batch to start. My only stupid question, are the vegy's raw or cooked/steamed?

You know, this wasn't so bad! I was really surprised! This is what I did based on what I had on hand:
2 egg yolks
1 scoop whey protein
1/4 c Flax Meal
1/4 C Coconut Cream
1 C Spinach
1 C Broccoli
1T Peanut Butter
50g Acai

I had to add a lot of water to get it to blend but it's actually not bad. I wouldn't say it's chocolate mousse but it's certainly tolerable. For those of you on the fence, give it a try. Truly, it's not that bad.

Here's the nutritional breakdown for what I did. Mine was 32 ounces:
Calories:618
Fat: 43
Sat: 13
Carbs: 24
Fiber: 13
Protein: 41

Carbs are a bit high for me but I'll have to see how I do. I'm in the midst of a very annoying stall so I'm hoping this helps
