Ended up putting in some cocoa powder, sf instant coffee, a swirl of cream. They look a little better. Hoping they come out after freezing! |

I'm so glad I found this thread! I bought some CO last night and am anxious to try this recipe tonight when I get home. I think nuts are holding me back, so I'm going to leave them out first.
Funny, when I was doing LC years ago, I never heard about CO, or if I did then it didn't sink in. I'm not much for buying special products, but this seemed worth it. I'll post after I try it! |

Made this today and Ive eaten almost the whole triple batch i made...good lord. I figure there are worse things I could binge on eh? I toasted my almonds in a pan before stirring them in, yummy! Makes an excellent Christmas party candy (if you keep them in a cooler part of your room). Next batch is going to be crushed SF peppermint candies stirred in.

Im doing eat fat get thin (Barry Groves) with 60-70% of my calories coming from healthy fats. And what a wonderful way to get them with Coconut oil! Thanks for your concern. Coconut oil is thermogenic as well so often aids in breaking weightloss stalls. Last edited by susique333 : 12-07-2007 at 06:18 AM. |

does anyone have or can point me in the direction of the nutritional info for the bark: calories, fat, carbs, fiber? i haven't made it, but wanted to put it in fitday. i'm thinking it might be a good option to have on hand when people are passing around the holiday treats.

Annie, I plugged this recipe in for you. I switched the nuts to macadamia as it cut carbs. Same amount of almonds is 10 carbs. I broke mine into a million pieces and kept in freezer. Coconut oil solidifies at 76°. Chocolate Bark 4T coconut oil 469 cals 54 Fat 0 carbs 0 Protein Cocoa powder 29 cals 1 fat 4 carbs 2 Protein 2 oz of roasted macadamia nuts 400 cals 43 fat 7 carb 4 protein EDIT:I USE LIQUID SPLENDA I get it off ebay. Mine would be different as my cocoa powder is only 1 net carb per tbl and I use a combo of Sweetzfree and sf Davinci syrups to lower carbs. In fact did you count the carbs for Splenda if that's what she'll be using? |

Ok ladies and gents! I made that recipe with SF peppermint candy crushed up. Oh wow. Hubby loves it, says it tastes better than what we buy in the store. Making a batch with dried cranberries for my daughters who are married, theyre not low carbing but less sugar is better for everyone! Enjoy the day folks, more snow in Omaha.

Is that REally only one-quarter teaspoon of sweetener? or should that be Tablespoon. I can't try all the other versions cause I don't have stevia and erythritol and such. I've got Splenda, and Diabetisweet, and a few Davinci's (heard Davinci separates) I don't even like Coconut, so I want to make sure I do this right from the start so my only prejudice will be the coconut oil. |
