My husband really liked these. I didn't care for them too much. They were too chewy, not fluffy like I was hoping. All I could taste was protein powder which I dont care for anyway. I made a triple batch and did the donuts. I only made three donuts at first. When I realized I didn't like them, I put the batter in the fridge. I let it sit overnight and it got a bit thicker. I decided to put some sugar free banana syrup and walnuts in it and make it on the waffle maker. My husband (who doesnt do low carb) loved them and I still didn't like them, they were a little better than the donuts for me, the sugar free syrup i dipped them into may have helped hide some of the protein powder flavor/texture. I am very picky when it comes to low carb desserts. In four years of off and on low carbing, the only dessert that I have found that I like is the Almond Flour Fudge Cake by The Chicken Lady and I have made soooooooo many!
I might try these again with Almond Flour and see if they are any better. They did get crispy in the oil and the waffle maker.
