Just couldn't help myself, I had to resurrect this old thread. These are oh! so yummy! I made them at least every other day last year, and still lost weight.

Just bumping this to say that these are really amazing. I make them with zero-carb PP, a little less melted butter and fry them in CO and it's basically a free food. Except it feels really indulgent so I don't eat it every day...

Thank you for dragging up this thread! OMG...I'm eating a batch right now. So, they didn't turn out quite as perfect looking as I'd hoped, but they taste delicious.
I think I was worried about about getting the oil too hot, so it ended up being too cold...lol. Oh well, I'll work on it. I'll be making these again tomorrow. ![]() My favorite LC treat in the 5 years I've been doing it! |

I've recently tried them this way:
1/4 C Egg Beaters 1 scoop vanilla PP 1t vanilla 1t cinnamon Beat together then fry by spoon drops full about 2 mins each side. There are GREAT! Even lower cal than with the regular egg. |

These are pretty good, mine weren't exactly round. But they fried up in my frydaddy perfectly.
Now to work on a glaze for them... |

I tried this last night and this is now my FAVORITE low carb snack. Sooo good. The first batch ....the oil was too hot and the outside cooked too fast and the inside wasn't cooked. The second time I kinda burned them...but they STILL tasted yummy. I'm gonna keep experimenting until I can get them just right. I'm actually thinking about next time just making a big pancake and eating it like a true funnel cake! ;-)

OMG YOU SAVED MY SANITY! Mom and my DD were making donuts
so I fried up some of these faux-nuts and dipped them in Walden Farms pancake syrup. I felt like I was cheating, these are so freaking satisfying! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Here are 2 different ways to make these besides the Protein Powder way:
Bake Mix Recipe: 3 1/2 Tbls Bake Mix of Choice 1 teas Sweetener of Choice 1/4 teas cinnamon 1/4 teas Baking Powder 1 large Egg White, beaten 3 Tbs Water Beat Egg White until frothy with sweetener and water. Add dry ingredients and combine well Fry batter in oil of choice until crispy and golden brown Sprinkle with more sweetener (optional) Almond Flour Recipe: 3 Tbs Almond Flour 1/2 teas Sweetener of Choice 1/4 teas Cinnamon 1/4 teas Baking Powder 1 Large Egg White, beaten 2 Tbls Water Instructions as the same as for the Bake Mix Recipe above. I have done all three; Protein Powder, Bake Mix and Almond Flour and I LOVE THEM ALL! I just use whatever I have on hand at the time I want a donut!
