mastercook question

For those that have used diff versions of Mastercook software--what's the difference say in version 9 versus version 7 or 8? I'm wondering if it's worth the extra $ to get the most current version or if any older one will do the same thing.

I have an even OLDER version and I'm sure it will do the same things - you can add in custom ingredients, make up your own recipes, import recipes from other sites....

I don't know what bells & whistles they may have added but this one I have (probably version 5, I'm not at home to check) does everything I need it to do.

I have version 7 and am happy. I think there are differences in how you import a recipe, but I'm very happy with the capabilities on mine. And as Charski says, you can do the important stuff (make new cookbooks, nutrition info, etc) no matter what version. I started with 4.0 and could do those things with it.

Thanks. I just ordered Version 8--looked like the best deal for the money. I'm cheap and don't want to pay alot (okay I realize $20 isn't really alot) for something I'm not sure how much I'll use (wish I had a laptop so I could have a computer in the kitchen).
