Remember these~Peanut Butter Cups

They were all the rage several years ago and got me through some rough times.

Peanut Butter Cups

1 stick unsalted butter
1 square unsweetened bakers chocolate
4 Tbs natural peanut butter
2 tsp cream
1/3 cup pourable splenda. (I found the packets to dissolve better)

Melt butter, chocolate and splenda in microwave, add peanut butter and cream. Stir well. Pour into mini paper cups and freeze. Must keep in the
freezer as they tend to melt fast. Makes about 18 mini cups.

If you can afford the carbs putting a couple of nuts in each cup makes them extra yummy

So how many packets of Splenda do you use? These remind me of the "bark" we were making awhile back. Thanks for the recipe!

I had to quit making these because I couldn't leave them alone! I made them expellor pressed coconut oil (no flavor) instead of butter.

Eye-eye-eye this is so perfect! I really want to make my hubby some special Easter treats.
Thanks, Sweeteater.

And thanks, Wen, I will make some with nuts, too.

Also, I think we should start an Easter thread, don't ya think? It would be very nice to make Easter baskets for our Low Carb loved ones... Coconut egs, sugar eggs, chocolates, even "jelly" beans.
Edit: Not to mention hard-boiled eggs!

I just found some of these tucked away in my freezer over the weekend. I last made them in 2004. Guess I'm overdue to clean out the freezer.

Okay, if I make some more would I have to use granular splenda, or would liquid work? Trying to save a few carbs if possible...

Thanks! Hope he likes them. I remember them being pretty strong in flavor.
BTW, your part of TN is much prettier than where I come from.

I know he will love them...he likes his coffee black and his chocolate dark. He likes real strong flavors. He doesn't like real sweet too...so it will be nice to be able to control the sweetening.
Hey! I didn't think there were any "less prettier" parts of TN. We moved from California so the Smokies remind us of home. >^.,.^<

That is so funny!!!

I'm wondering about a liquid sweetner, too. I don't remember trying anything like DaVinci's. Maybe half granular and half liquid might work.
Let us know what you come up with.
