This may sound strange, but I take a smal can of tomato paste and mix it with a little bit of water to get the right consistency, and then whatever spices/herbs I feel like. A pinch of oregano, some basil, some garlic, salt & pepper.

Thanks Karen...I will have to try that. The grocery store where I shop at doesn't sell low carb pizza sauce.

Can you get Ragu brand pizza sauce? It's only got water, tomato paste, oil and spices. 4 net carbs per 1/4 cup. Watch out for Contadina brand. It contains sugar and starch.

The two best (local) pizza places here use just plain canned tomato puree,
and since I found that out (at about age 10- my dad worked for one of them),
I've been doing the same thing.

Per Tablespoon:

6.25 Calories;
.03g Fat (3.1% calories from fat);
.26g Protein;
1.49g Carbohydrate;
.31g Dietary Fiber;
0mg Cholesterol;
62.34mg Sodium

They just sprinkle their Italian seasoning over the puree or in with the toppings.
