Storing lettuce

I am looking for recommendations for storing lettuce in the frig. Right now I wash a head, let it dry then wrap it in paper towels and ziplock it. But what I am looking for is a way to have it chopped up so that we can just grab some and makea quickie salad. Any ideas how to store a chopped up head of lettuce??? Is there a special type of container for this? Or is there a way to just chop and bag that keeps it fresh.

Any ideas would be fantastic - thanks in advance.

I store my washed and chopped lettuce in my salad spinner in the refrigerator. The salad spinner works so wonderfully.

Tupperware makes some special containners for produce. They have little vents onthe end and depending onwhat you have in it, you open one or towor no vents. It keeps lettuce better than anything I have tried.

I'll second the TW recommendation. I once kept swiss chard for 6 weeks in one of those containers and it was still crisp!
