Homemade hamburger patties ...Help!!!

Hi - I've recently purchased the Giant Foreman Grill and would love to make homemade hamburgers as I really do not enjoy the pressed ones from Safeway etc. I know eggs, salt and pepper are fine but what can I use to help them stick together.

1) Not Bread Crumbs

2) Would oatmeal be okay? (I'm Scottish so oatmeal is a good substitute tastewise but how about carb wise?)

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I looked on menu/recipe to no avail.

I don't add anything to my hamburger to make hamburgers, just sprinkle with salt/pepper/garlic powder and grill

I usually mix my hamburger with some chopped onion and a little garlic powder, salt, pepper ... maybe some lc catsup or some worcestershire sauce and a raw egg, and mix up ... I don't really need anything to hold it together.

Egg is probably enough of a binder. My DH also uses a few ground up pork rinds.

I'm another purist! I don't mix them up with anything, although I do sprinkle a bit of garlic salt on them before cooking.

I love the taste of the BEEF!
