Linda Sue's Sloppy Joe Casserole

Hiya all.... OMG.... I had this dish tonight and it is a total do again dish.... very very good.... but I have a question........

Why is it not induction legal? I am in pre-maintenance so it is fine for me but not sure why one can not have it for induction?

What is the criteria for induction friendly? Just curious

Thanks,
Juls

Sometimes it's tough deciding which recipes are induction-friendly. I have to look at all the ingredients one by one. I don't remember now why I chose not to mark that recipe, but it might be because of the tomato sauce and the Worcestershire sauce, which aren't on the allowed list. The carbs are certainly low enough per serving, but I guess I have to base it on whether or not there are ingredients not on the list. Frankly, I think it would be fine for induction as long as you watch your portion size.

Linda thanks for your quick reply... I was wondering about the w. sauce... wonder if that could be left out... I think the tomato sauce would be fine...

Thanks again and your recipes rock!!!

The 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce adds just under 3.5 carbs. Spread over 6 servings, that's not too bad. I don't know how the flavor would be affected by leaving it out. I've always made my sloppy joes with that combination of seasonings and ingredients and it was just right so I've never messed with it other than to use Splenda instead of brown sugar.
