Has anyone used "Fasweet?"
I saw it in Walmart yesterday. It's a liquid sweetener--I think made from saccharin--said 0 carbs.
I'm wondering if it would be good to bake with. And if it has that icky saccharin taste. That's like sweet 'n low right? I never liked that stuff. TIA. |

I saw this tonight and was wondering the same thing. Says it can be used for baking so....was really wondering about the taste.
Can anyone offer their opinion? |

I have used saccharin syrup in some of my old recipes. The cookbook authors used them to bring down the carb count before we had any other options. Like stevia, I find it is too bitter to use alone. It is ok mixed with other sweeteners. It seems to be heat stable.I make a bread pudding from a cookbook that uses a mxture of saccharin and it came out great.

I have Fasweet and use it every once in a while to put in coffee or yogurt--usually to mix with my other sweeteners. I got it because it was something I could find in my grocery store and didn't have to special order it. It works OK for the few things I am using it for, but have never tried to bake with it.
