A new tortilla with minus carbs ??
I bought some tortillas at the health food store today and now I wonder if it is "safe" to eat? They are Moctezuma brand Special thick FLOUR tortillas. The owner said that she ordered them for a customer who has lost a lot of weight on Atkins and uses them like bread. Each tortilla contains: Total Carbs 18 Dietary Fiber 25g sugars 1.7g
Ingredients: Enriched Flour, Water, Veg. shortening, Baking Powder, Salt, Sodium Propionate added as preservative. They are only $1.59 for a pkg. of 12. Do you think they really are 0 carbs?? |

Sorry, but no way can they be zero carbs!
My guess is that the fiber has already been subtracted, and that they are 18 grams ecc. However, having said that, with those ingredients, I can not understand where there would be 25 grams of fiber! I'd be giving them to somebody else to eat, cause there's no way I'd have enriched flour in my plan! |
