20 down, 50 to go!
I am so happy to report that I've lost 20 pounds since December 21, 2012. Woo Hoo! I started low carbbing it right before Christmas weighing 230, my all time high. I had a horrible first few days of induction where I was weeping and depressed. I then passed into protein-fat high and lost ten pounds in about a week. I ate some carbs over the holidays (and last week at a party) and noticed that they affected my mood and physical feelings of well-being. Good to notice that!
I haven't been following a specific plan or counting grams of carbs, but have eliminated flour, rice, potatoes, milk (oh milk, I miss you), and as much sugar/HFCorn Syrup as I could from my diet (I buy salad dressing and ketchup that have sugar in them). I started exercising for about ten minutes a day -- doing simple weight lifts with three pound weights and going on the Lateral Thigh Trainer (a low-tech climbing machine). And I've lost 20 pounds! I can't WAIT to get on the other side of 200 (I'm at 210 now), and I really hope to lose the remaining 50 by the end of 2013. The recipes, encouragement, and tales of success (and tales of struggle) posted here have been such a help. Thanks everybody! ![]() |

Yay girl! This journey is well worth it girl! I have been on Atkins since Jan 1 2013, and I really miss milk too! Lol. But, I do not miss the fast foods, I do miss the convenience of it all, but I really don't miss how it makes me feel! I still have 44 to go, so we are pretty close in our final goal! We can do this! Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels! Good luck, you are not alone on this path to feeling great and looking gorgeous! :0)

Have you tried the unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk? I was drinking that even before starting LC. Very yummy and only 2 carbs!

Congratulations on your success to date!
Have you tried Heinz's low carb ketchup? They don't sell it in the stores I shop at, instead there is a no-name healthy version I buy and it's only 1 g carb/tbsp as opposed to 4gcarb/tbsp with regular ketchup, which is great because I love ketchup I too love unsweetened AB almond milk |
