Over 80lbs lost! From a size 22 to almost a size 2 in one year!
At my highest weight 4 years ago I was 242.. I was SO unhappy. I had battled issues with my weight all my life.. and when I was getting my life straightened out I just was slowing adding on the pounds.. I'm bipolar and was put on many different medication to help me.. and some made me gain a lot of weight.. and then the rest of the weight was me.. even with the meds I was still depressed at times, and always turned to food.. forward to 2006.. we had been trying to conceive for year and never had any luck. Was told if I lost weight that would help the situation.. Well I lost the weight(I went from 242 to 170).. and even then were not able to conceive.. after trying to conceive so long.. I was getting depressed.. again turned to food and gained 15lbs back of the weight I had just lost.. it really was a never ending battle with depression and weight gain for me at this point... In 2008 we ended up having to do IVF in order to try and conceive a child.. I gained a bit of weight from that on top of the 15 I had already gained back... the meds did a number on me to say the least! We were lucky enough to get pregnant the first cycle.. and then with the pregnancy I gained like 50-60lbs.. I was MISERABLE to say the least. A day after giving birth, I was instantly down 35lbs.. but then it seemed after Andrew was born.. I found myself still eating a lot.. and started drinking more *stress* lol .. I ended never losing anymore baby weight.. actually the opposite.. ended up gaining back all that I had lost! I guess for me, it just hit me.. I was miserable.. I was just not happy with myself. I could not run and play with my son.. I had trouble going up and down stairs in our home.. I was out of breath all the time.. my knees had gone out a few times.. I was just in pain all the time! I did not want to live like that anymore. I wanted to be able to walk Andrew to the park.. run in the yard with him. I wanted to stop being in so much pain and just live! For me Andrew has been my motivation from the get go. I started living a low carb way of live on January 3rd 2010 and over the last year have lost 82lbs pounds. I went from 228 lbs, size 1x shirts, 20/22 size pants to what I am today.. 146 lbs, size extra Small-Small shirts and size 4 jeans(baggy, almost in a size2). I am beyond ecstatic with my success! I really never in a million years thought I would be a size 4/2.. NEVER..and even small top...wow!
I added exercise into my life around 158lbs. I started doing Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred. I did a full 30 days of this and went from a size 12 to a size 6! Amazing!! I took 2 weeks off then did another 24 days of Shred plus added her Shred it with Weights. I went from a size 6 to a size 4. Again took 2 weeks off. . and at it again. I am trying to do another 30 days and already notice my size 4 jeans getting really baggy. I have not been to the store to try on size 2 yet.. but I'm betting they will fit right now, just on the tighter side. I'm waiting another week or so before I go and try on in hopes by then.. size 2 will fit perfect! It’s been a tough journey.. it is not easy giving up white breads, pasta, starchy fruit and veggies, & sugar that’s for sure! I have learned a whole new way of eating. A way that WORKS for me! I am now happy! I love the person I see in the mirror. I love that I am able to run & play with my son. I am able to take long walks, like 5k some days, with no issues. I am never out of breath, well... maybe when I’m doing my Shred lol, but really never struggling to get through my day. Never in pain anymore. Just in general, SO happy with my life! And happy with all I have achieved over these last Year! Here is to living again!! “Nothing builds self-esteem and self-confidence like accomplishment.” ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My Shred results: Inches: Start: Chest: 34" waist:33” hips: 41" thigh:23" Now: Chest: 33" Waist: 29.5" Hips: 37" Thigh: 21" Chest: -1" Waist: - 3.5" Hips: -4" Thigh: -2" ----- - 10.5" ![]() Last edited by Candiflip; 01-05-2011 at 11:52 AM.. |

Awesome job. Your dropping those pant sizes and not losing a ton of weight make me want to go restart my 30 Day Shred. You have given me hope that I can get past this horrible stall I have been in. |

O-M-G! That is an incredible transition. Great job! I hope to accomplish something like that (was originally looking to head down to 220, now I'm thinking 200 would be better for me...) within the next year or 2. You are truly inspiring!
Thank you for sharing this! |

You look wonderful, congrats !!
Now that you are at goal weight what is your daily menu usually like? Question for you about Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred. I was planning to start this tomorrow. Did you do each level for 10 days each or just stay at one level and do it for the 30 days? Also what pound of weights do you usually use? |

Yes You are supposed to do 30 days in a row no days off. Everyone is different though. not everyone does that. You move up when you are ready B: scrambled eggs w/ salsa, low carb pancakes made with coconut flour, sausage & eggs L: scrambled eggs w/ salsa D: baked pork chop OR baked chicken thighs OR steak OR hamburger patties w/ steamed broccoli(with butter & salt), sausage & eggs, LC chili, salad w/ blue cheese dressing w/ ham or chicken S: Apple(sometimes with peanut butter), Latte's(make with 2TB heavy cream & SF syrups), 2-4 oz cheese, low carb baked goods I make myself, hot cocoa(1TB cocoa, 1TB Splenda, 1.5 cup water 1TB heavy cream), pickles, black forest ham |

Candi, so did you just do level 1/level 2 for 15 days each then? I am on day 8 of level 1 and it's still hard. Not as hard as it was at first I was
after the first time! I think your plan might suit me best. Congrats on your success, you are VERY inspiring ![]() |

yeah kinda. I sprained my ankle the first time I did 30 days.. so had to go back to L1 most the time with modification. I did not do L3 come the second time I did it because I was doing the shred it with weights with it and just did L1 & L2. Now this time.. I'm on day 19.. and I've been doing L3 for 3 days now.. it's hard!!!!

Thank you so much for all the info!
I am really enjoying The Shred. I feel like I've already made progress and it hasn't even been a week yet. How do you like the Shred w/Weights? I may look into that for next month. |

What an amazing sequence of pictures! Taking them in the same pose and position each time really makes the changes easy to track.
I'm so impressed. I've done the weight loss -- but not the fitness gain. That's what I'm looking to do now. You're a tremendous inspiration and I'm so glad you were able to have that gorgeous little guy. |
