On my way back to a size 6.

Hello everyone, I'm AFwife and I new to this forum but not to lc'ing.

A bit about me, Today is my 31st birthday, WOO HOO.... I'm an Air Force wife, hence my ID name, married almost 5 years have 2 boys, Anthony is 11 yrs old and Lancelot is 2 yrs old. We are stationed in the UK, (England) and we are loving it here.

I started Atkins November of last year and in 7 months lost 110 pounds.

How I did it? Followed the book to the T and exercised 5 days a week.

My dh (darling husband) and the kids (2 boys, one is 11 yrs old the other is 2 and a half yrs old) and I went to Scotland for a long weekend this past June, and I fell off the wagon and hard. OUCH! That just caused a chain reaction for 4 months. Gained back 30 of the 110 pounds and was very disappointed with myself.

I switched to South Beach as of last Monday and I'm now just 17 pounds away from getting back to where I left off.

Looking forward to making friends here, receiving support and giving support.

Glad to be here,

Lily...aka...AFwife

ticker factory

Please tell me how you were able to place your ticker factory on your post. I am trying to do the same.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks you guys!

As far as the ticker goes, go to www.tickerfactory.com and make one then when it gives you the BB Code copy it and paste it to your each of your post. That's right you have to paste it to each post cause they won't allow you to put it in your siggie box.

For it to show click on IMG and when the box pops up, paste it there then click ok.

Have a great day everyone.

Congrats on your success!!! Well, I was on the low carb wagon for about 4 years (1998-2002) and went from 260 to 145. I fell off the wagon BIG TIME for 2 years and I'm back up to 230!!! My question is, how do you like South Beach? how (for you) does it compare to weight loss from Atkins?

I guess its time to change my SIGGY. As you can see, last year I was making another attempt, but was starting at 215....WOW.

Hi there,

I liked SB but I wasn't losing at a fast pace like I was with Atkins. So, I've switched back as of 2 weeks ago and since have lost 11 pounds.

SB being low fat, wasn't working out for me. I lose best eating high in fat.

Hope this answers your question.

Hi! Thanks for the tracker - and welcome. I fell off the LC wagon a year ago and gained back all my weight, plus more. I Learned my lesson the hard way. I stalled for so long that I lost confidence....I vow not to do that again. But I need inspiration and this board gives it.

You got the ticker right the first time....you don't have to add the IMG to it cause the tickerfactory adds it on already.

Hang in there, the weight will come off if you stay focused.

Cheers!

Yes, staying focused is the key. Reading daily about LC and keeping focused on the goal and the reason behind why I want it............ya gotta be driven. I see where my mistakes were made the first time.

Slippery slope when one decides to "reward" themselves on a daily basis, huh? For me, it was the candy bars and LC ice cream and the sweet shakes. That was my start on the slopes.

This time - it's all home made foods and NO movement outside what is included in my meal plan. Gotta stay focused.

Yes indeed. I rewared myself after only my first 10 days in Induction when I started a year ago. I gained back the 8 pounds I lost and then some.

I know only reward myself once a month and it's only one meal not a whole entire day. It's what keeps me going. I think we need to find what keeps us going and do it as long as it's not throwing us off track.

I've been Inducting now for 2 weeks and have gone from 215 to 194....I don't plan on letting this slow down cause of a cheat.

I want this weight off already!

Best wishes to you in your weight loss journey.

Congratulations! I personally found staying on Atkins difficult when I lived in London. I was on a budget; meat was expensive and beer and carby foods were cheap. Good luck!

Thanks!

Luckily being military I don't have to pay the high prices out in the economy. We buy our food on base, with American prices.

I have all the Carb Options and LC products right at hand so it's all good.

Cheers!

HI!

I saw in an earlier post that you exercised 5 times a week. What kind of exercise did/do you do?

Thanks! You are doing great!

I have the Richard Simmons, Disco Sweat video, it really gets you sweating. That's done 3 times a week and then 2 days a week the stepper for 20 minutes.

But I'm buying a treadmill at the end of this month now and I'm gonna start walking and jogging now instead of the video and stepper. I need a change of routine. I won't do it outside cause I'm not comfortable in my own skin yet to do it out in front of people. I hope to be soon though.

YOU CAN DO IT!
