here I go again

I am 23,about to turn 24 next month. My son just turned 1 and it really hit me that I am still 30lbs overweight compared to my old self. I tried atkins when i first had the baby, I did not stick to it and really had no motivation. Now here I am again, i have been doing atkins since the beginning of February, I call it my monday through friday diet, i always tend to stray on the weekends. Im trying to be better, i have lost 13lbs so far, need to lose atleast 20 more and i will be satisfied. My husband is very supportive but says he likes my size just as it is, do all men say that? My goal seems so far away and thats why i tend to stray. I live in south texas next to all the beaches and its beach time already! I need to get my beach body back!!!! If anyone has some advice or need a weight loss body please let me know, I need some motivation ya all. lol

Good luck. Sounds like you are doing great!!! Hang your bikini out where you can see it everyday....that'll keep you motivated to stay on track!!

purists would say....

if you only do it through the week it is NOT atkins... i also read that in DANDR... but.. that being said... best of luck on your LO CARB efforts..(cause that is actually what i would term what you are doing..... )
i... have NEVER been known as a purist..*GRIN*... but.. i very MUCH admire those purists among us!

Atkins

It IS atkins. Because i stray sometimes does not mean that I need to label it otherwise. I work hard at losing weight, if i, or anyone else doing atkins want to enjoy a different meal on the weekend it does not mean that we are kicked out of the atkins plan. Good luck to you on your diet and please keep that in mind, thanks.

Good Luck to you!~!!! Hope to see you posting more!!!

I know what you mean about the pounds after kids. I gained 40 with each one of my children and never really got back to where I was when I started. Over the years it just started getting to me, so I decided enough was enough!!

It has been 3 years since my last one was born (Coralyn
), so I am determined to do this once and for all!! It has been 4 months and I have only lost 26 pounds, but that is better than 26 pounds ago!!!!!!

whoa whoa whoa@

i sure didnt mean that the way you took it cora.. dang... just meant that according to the book DANDR you could be causing some problems.....pages 216 and pages 223-225.
wasnt trying to be mean... just wanted newbies that might come here and not have read the book to understand the concerns dr. atkins had about doing it through the week only and off on weekends... heck girl... i dont have a problem with ANY way someone does or doesnt do the plan... sheeesh... *slinking back to my old forum...*
dang...:-(

Hi Cora....I am going into week 3 and am also finding it a little difficult. I know I am only 20 and dont have a WHOLE lot to lose but I still get discouraged. I try to weigh myself once every 4 days....its better seeing a 5 pound decrease then a 1 pound and that keeps me motivated. Try and exercise if you can and Im sure you know that. I have lost about 11 pounds in 2 weeks because I have been hitting the gym everyday. I know you have a child....but any little thing helps. Also...everytime I wanna quit...or think of the bag of mini eggs my Mother sent me in an easter package I picture myself on the beach looking at all the hot/skinny girls I am going to th Dominican in a month and I reeeeally wanna look good. I went last year...got the pictures back...and I went through them, took all the ones with me out....then showed them to people This time I wanna show pics and have people be like...wow charmaine you look great! Anyways.....these are little things I like to do.....also...avoid mirror below the neck when you can....I look in it everyday and I find it harder to notice a difference. Sizing yourself up once a week would be better...and easier to see a differece (I should do that but I dont ) Good luck Cora....

Hi

Hello again...glad to hear you bought a cute outfit...Im a student and I can't afford clothes or time b/c exams are coming up. I am hoping I can live through exams....studying makes me wanna munch but I bought some Atkins bars and pancakes today. I am not getting into the habit..but their good to have around...plus its TOM so cravings get crazy! I am also trying to go until Friday before weighing in again....and hoping TOM will take some extra weight when it goes...lol. Well...hope all is well today...keep that cute little outfit in mind...just like I keep me on the Dominican beach in mind

oops

hey charmaine, well, i just got home from running my PRT, i failed it by 20 seconds, so now i am officially on mandatory physical training mon wed and friday for the next 6 months, i will be running 3 miles every one of those days in formation with the other people who failed. I guess thats not a bad thing, i need the little push to lose my weight faster, so im a little happy about it. and its during working hours with one of the senior officers so its not like i could be doing anything better ya know.
Good job on your will power, thats awesome you just ate a salad. your doing great to lose 13.5 lbs in 3 weeks, ive on ly lost 17 in like almost 2 months. But let me tell you, now thats giong to change!!! this chief will be screaming at us the whole way, it will be like im in bootcamp again, aaaghh. well gotta get back to work, todays going to ba a long day, i cant wait to step on the scale today, i will let you know where im at. Keep up the good work! and why dont they sell those chocolates where your at? i get mine at super walmart, they are like hidden in the slimfast aisle. check next time you are there. Later, have a good atkins day, ha ha that was so dorky, oh well . bye

haha i enjoyed your message! well yes the training will do you good you know. I cant believe how fast I have lost weight....I have lost like 3 and a half pounds just this week and its not even over...so less than a week. I believe my exercising has definitely sped up my weight loss thank god!! I am so happy Im almost in the 120's! I cannt wait!!!!!!! Well....this little small town im in does not have any wal mart or any good stores but sobeys and they have no low carb things! its very dissappointing b/c the only thing i can buy here is atkins advantage bars and pancake mix! like i cannot find the yogurts or anything at all the people talk about on here. lc icecream or sf/lc candies! NOTHING! i guess thats kind of a good thing thought expecially for the first few weeks. when im in maintenance i will want some of those goodies! we have wal mart at home (ill be going there after exams) but not a super wal mart. and its a small town too so I doubt they'll have much. i think when im done exams I will order a whole bunch of stuff online all at once you know? thats all i can do i guess! let me know what the scale says...im interested to see how your doing and I really really hope your progress speeds up with exercise! it makes you that much more motivated to keep at it! big time!
Have a nice day (im studying alllll day)

Charmaine
