No more Prilosec for Me!!!

New to board. My hubby and I started on 2/21/04. I have lost 10 pounds. But the best news is I have not had to take my heartburn medicine since I have started. My next goal (besides the weight loss) is to have my blood pressure checked and get off that medicine also!

i am so proud of u losing this weight but i am having the hardest time losing weight. i know i have lost some but it is so slow. What should i do

I started Atkins Feb 9. In my quest to concentrate on the WOE , I kept forgetting to take my meds ( Dr. put me on AcipHex several mos ago ) the meds worked really well. But it finally dawned on me that I had not taken any & what amazed me is that I didnt need it ! I have not had any acid reflux symtoms since I started the Atkins. I have not talked to my dr. since but she will also be shocked. She is a vegetarian but she told my Mother that under any circumtances she should not follow the Atkins. Mother is diabetic.

Yolanda that is great. It happened to me the same exact way. It dawned on my after a week that I hadn't taken it in over a week. I had a hyatal hernia (not sure of spelling) and after the 3rd day I was suffering if I did not take my medicine. I am really satisfied on this diet. Grocery stores are becoming aware more now by offering Carb Smart products now which is great news!!!
